Why was Houck never an option in this inning?

Is it Perez time yet? Save the pen for the two must-win games in Houston. This has become extremely low-leverage in a hurry. Eh, can’t really have him pitch three games in a row. So Sawamura/Hernandez time.

I’m sorry, maybe I’m new to this, but are the Sox doomed because they need 1run in 4 innings? If I am missing something and that is insurmountable, I’ll share your chagrin. But my naive take is… this is there fer the havin’. How bout now? Well… now… not so good.

Definitely save Houck Hopefully Eovaldi can dominate with Houck Backup then all hands on deck in a possible game 7. This offense needs to wake TF up

Go on the road in front of a hostile Astros crowd with an Astros team that has finally started to hit like the way they're capable and try to get them out with a wretched bullpen that can't get anybody out and win twice?
Sure, of course that will happen.....just because the Red Sox are our favorite team.

Sure, of course that will happen.....just because the Red Sox are our favorite team. Again, not saying it will, just that it could. They will be slight underdogs in both of those games. And those lines take into account everything you mentioned plus a million other things. The chances of winning two straight games as a slight underdog are around 20%. Not great, but very far from a sure thing.
