There's no trauma when you know you're gonna suck every single year. I don't even hate the Jets. I just feel sorry for that entire fan base

I remember it vividly, I called all of my Yankee fan friends who gave me shit after it was over. It was such a release after all of my childhood (I was 7 in 86 and it pretty much ruined me). 2003 ended so disappointingly, 04 was like therapy for the soul. I really can't imagine what it felt like losing in '86 as a Sox fan. (Not to bring back bad memories) This run of success for the Sox since '04 must feel amazing for longtime fans that are old enough to remember a big chunk of the drought. Being 23 the worst memory I have for the Sox is game 162 in 2011 and thats nothing compared to other moments the franchise went through. We recorded 86 on VHS and as a right of passage watched it over and over again through the years. I was steeped in 75 even though it was two years before my birth. We went to Yaz's final game in 83. 04 was amazing and as I said, a release of so much anxiety as a Sox fan. Honestly for me, beating the Yankees was more enthralling, I almost felt like after that series the WS was secondary and an afterthought, like almost a forgone conclusion. I don't know that any championship will ever top 04 for me, because prior to that I thought it was impossible for us to actually win.

Apropos of nothing....what makes me most nervous with Ottavino is his dang body language. Dude is just there, it seems.

Spoiler alert: The ending doesn't change.

Their lineup is frightening. Their pitching had to be pretty mediocre to lose 67 games. Correa scares me the most. Glad he's leaving.

For as much of a “reputed good hitter” as Bogey is, he really turns into an absolute pumpkin way too much, sigh

Xander just seems to be not seeing the ball well. Even most of his hits aren't squared up

Any chance Hunter does something here?
Should Santana PH for him?
