Any chance Hunter does something here? Should Santana PH for him? I’m kinda understanding the Santana pinch hit now lol

Jeez, Xander has had 3 bad games after going 5-9 with a HR in the first two Rays games and hitting a HR and getting 2 BB against the Yankees in the WC game. Stop it! He's been better in the postseason than Schwarber!
This is what mere mortal hitters do unless you're Barry Bonds, David Ortiz or Kiké Hernandez.

JDM seems to be back on track, but Renfroe has taken over the 'watch strike one down the middle then swing at breaking pitches a foot outside the zone' approach from him.

Hunter's going through a stretch too...watching strikes. swinging at balls.

For as much of a “reputed good hitter” as Bogey is, he really turns into an absolute pumpkin way too much, sigh Xander has an OPS of .925 in 27 postseason ABs this year and you are calling him a pumpkin...

Do other teams’ boards talk about generational trauma? I can’t imagine. I know a few MFY fans that still have nightmare about 2004, still play the What If..? game. And I am speaking about a lot of people that were fans of Mantle and Murcer. My father's best friend said he would of given 5 of their championships back if they can take 2004 away. I was only 7 in 1978, that stung, 15 in 86, that hurt and 2003 was just sad. But the 2004 comeback took all that away. When I am down or feeling blue I watch game 3 of the 2004 ALCS, seeing Jeter celebrate outside the dugout just gives me a calmness right before the storm.

Confused. Why Whitlock in the 7th? Why not in 8th and/or 9th?

So I don't *love* using Sawamura in a 1-run game yesterday and Whitlock in a 6-run game today.

Confused. Why Whitlock in the 7th? Why not in 8th and/or 9th? Probably to hide him from their best hitters so he's more effective later in the series.

What do we expect now? That everyone in the lineup goes 2 for 3? This is baseball and we are doing great!!

Guys. Teams can see Whitlock 3 days in a row and it may not matter. This is the right move. Win the inning.

Confused. Why Whitlock in the 7th? Why not in 8th and/or 9th? Guessing they want him to face the top of the order

Confused. Why Whitlock in the 7th? Why not in 8th and/or 9th? If someone like Robles comes in and gives up 2 runs here it's a game. If he comes in to a 9-3 game (or better) in the 9th, less of an issue.

Yep, Smoltz just said it. Hitters get the advantage the more they see pitchers. 3rd time through the order penalty also applies to 3rd time seen in a series.
