Greinke also was famous for having serious anxiety issues in the past. That was always the main reason he wouldn’t go to NY. I’m not sure if he has that under control now, but hoping the Sox(and the fans) can rattle him and make him uncomfortable. Let's not do this. The fact that Greinke is able to pitch at all means he's resilient and won't get rattled that easily. Let's not hold his mental illness as some kind of edge.

Seriously, this feels like the kind of moment he steps up. I bet he would have pitched more than 3.1 innings in the last 30 days if that's something they thought was even remotely likely.

This is a well documented part of his makeup. Going into a hostile environment, given his history, is certainly worth mentioning.

He's been in the big leagues a long time I think he can handle it especially in the latter half of his career.

The anxiety isn't nearly as much of an issue as the fact that he's been so bad that he's been unpitchable. Imagine if Matt Barnes was a starter and he was our only option right now.

Do what, exactly? This is a well documented part of his makeup. Going into a hostile environment, given his history, is certainly worth mentioning. Except that's not how anxiety works. Greinke is a vet, he found some routine that works for him. We shouldn't rely on a psychological disorder to be a weakness, if a guy is there then he battled through some shit that's bigger than the Fenway crowd. And it's not even called for, current version of Greinke isn't much to write home about. We should be salivating to face a less than great pitcher at the ALCS with the potential to get a 3-1 lead!

We’re also lucky we’re not the Dodgers, their bats are anemic and their pitching looks totally exhausted

We’re also lucky we’re not the Dodgers, their bats are anemic and their pitching looks totally exhausted I believe they’ve had the lead in every game and squandered it. That series with SF must have taken too much out of them.

FWIW - JD, Renfroe and Shaw, with double digit PAs, have had good success against Greinke. Kiké less so, but this Kiké is obviously not the Kiké Grienke has faced before No one on Houston has seen Pivetta for double digit PAs.

Haha, Astros are the first team in baseball history for their starters to not get 9 outs in the first 3 games of a playoff series.

i get where Cora is coming from with Eduardo, but honestly, Correa had it coming. IMO, he was just protecting his teammate.
If you gonna give it, expect some back.

The dumbest thing about Correa's wrist thing is that he hit a 350 foot popup and acted like it was 450.

I’m legitimately not worried about that dinger. I’m thinking about how much damage the Sox offense is going to do to Zack Greinke.

Pivetta’s fastball control was rough, but hopefully that’s because he was too amped up in the 1st
