The core of this team is so flipping young, this is the BA projected 2025 lineup. Soto-sized hole in Center, but not too infeasible (and obviously it will all end up looking different).

Mata 8th and exclusion of Jimenez are probably the 2 most notable things here IMO

It says something positive that the guy who is currently slashing .373/.500/.493 in a league full of top prospects is not mentioned on the list of best tools.
Positive for Casas because he's looking more and more like the total package with an advanced approach, plus hit and power tools, as well as a solid defender at 1B.
Positive for everyone else on that list because they have tools that are thought (by one guy, at least) to be even better than what Casas has shown.
Obviously, tools don't necessarily translate to statistical success, but even taking it with that grain of salt, there's a bright future being built right now.

Vazquez and his dad bod as starting catcher in 2025 is the most surprising to me. I guess there is no one else to be confident about. Could be Tyler McDonough!

I know thks isn't really what this exercise is for but I'm hoping eovaldi and Sale aren't the sox 1 and 2 come the 2025 season. Though I guess if sales contract goes to 2025 it means his option vested and he's pitching well.

Will Alex be on for a podcast soon or are you saving it for the dark times during the lockout?

Surprised nobody said this, but the biggest surprise to me is Winckowski in the top 10 ahead of fellow starting pitchers like Wilkelman, Walter, Crawford, and Seabold.

Anyone see anything from the chat? I think during the season Speier was notably positive toward Chris Murphy, and I was curious if he was mentioned since he didn't make the top 10 (in addition to the starters ramireja mentioned).

I thought his curveball hasn't been all that effective since his surgery and he's been showing a better slider than curveball recently?

If anyone can pm a transcript to me of the chat I would greatly appreciate it. It used to be free and I tried watching it but I was either too late (12:45?) or the "live" chats are no longer free.

The second link works for me as free chat summary. One item of interest in R5.
BOB (Boston): How faar was kutter Crawford from top 10 and does he have a role at the ML level?
Alex Speier: Crawford definitely has a big league role - the fastball misses bats and he's not afraid to work with it in the strike zone. I think he's a lock to be added to the 40-man this week and would expect to see him helping the Red Sox in 2022. My best guess is that he'll do so as a multi-inning reliever but with consideration if a spot starter is needed.

The newest episode of baseball americas podcast in the Red Sox top 10 prospects.
"Alex Speier of the Boston Globe joins Kyle Glaser to break down the Red Sox farm system, including the debate between Marcelo Mayer and Triston Casas at No. 1, how Nick Yorke's season puts him in elite company and how scouts now see Jay Groome."
