This is the most amazing game (and weekend) of football in recent history.

Amazing game, amazing weekend... but how Bills was it to run a prevent defense there when the Chiefs only needed to get to field goal range? Mahomes needed no skill to make those two throws.
It's just such a shame how horrendous coaching wastes what would have been a legendary performance by Allen and Davis. Kick it through the end zone to not run off the clock, don't cover the quick throws in the middle... it's infuriating.

I can't believe these two games today.
I have never seen a crazier game than the Bills/Chiefs one in the history of football.

That has to be the most painful gut punch for a Bills fan. Like 28-3 in miniature.

That has to be definitive proof that the OT rule needs to change. I could not have cared less who won that game, all I care is that I feel robbed as a football fan because I didn't get to see Josh Allen's response.
Still, that was so much fun to watch

Just to hit it one more time, the Bills coaching staff thought the game was won because they made at least three mistakes in the final 13 seconds: - Kicking it in the end-zone let Mahomes get 2 plays instead of 1 - Not covering the under routes guaranteed a 20-year gain on each play - Rushing 4 men was just stupid... what's the point? Mahomes was guaranteed to release in 2-3 seconds. Take two linemen off, rush 2, play man with inside position on the 5 receivers and then do cover 4 deep. That would've forced time off the clock.
San Fran also played a horrible prevent defense against Dallas to almost blow that game as well. I just don't get what these coaches are thinking about to not run smart defenses with the lead late. It points to a lack of preparation on the coaching staff.

Lots of bitching about OT rules again today. I have seen at least 10 proposals for fixing them and everyone was sure their proposal was far superior to the current rules or others' proposals. Not saying I'm not open to change but I definitely wasn't convinced that any of them were better, and the fact that there were 10 different "it's so easy to solve!" rants doesn't help.

Some glaring examples of prevent defenses preventing a team from winning, then TBay lets Kupp get over the top for the game winning play LOL, how does that happen. And these are the best teams left standing?? Might explain why the Pats won so much. It is also a reminder of how many bad plays and stupid decisions Atlanta had to make for the Pats to come back and beat them in the SB. I guess maybe there is something to be said about the pressure of the moment for so many blunders to occur.
I can't imagine how bad McDermott must feel for losing that game, he totally blew it and can't hide from it.

OT rules need to change, the luck of a coin flip plays way too big of a role. Yet I hate College football overtime rules. Which one is right? I have no clue, yet most are better than the current rules.

Isn't the sort of obvious answer that you do it like the NHL, and in the playoffs you play another quarter? I get that in the regular season you want to end the game expeditiously, but when it's win or go home... I dunno this doesn't seem that difficult a question.

I was literally wondering about this today. Out of the 4 team one will win gurranty. If 49ers win, it will be a Super Bowl rematch which I don’t want to see.

Halftime show at the KC/Cinci game is freaking hilarious. You can't even hear them talking because the music is so loud.

Wow, Bengals have come back from 21-3 after the first 3 Chiefs possessions to tie it. And the Chiefs had the ball at the 1 before halftime and didn't get a point.

The Chiefs looked totally unstoppable in that first half. They’ve been very Jekyll and Hyde all season.

Imagine if the Chiefs get to the Super Bowl because they won 2 OT coin tosses.
edit: so glad it didn't happen because I couldn't listen to two weeks of that analysis.

I'm just glad to not have to listen for the next 100 years about how 13 seconds won the Chiefs a super bowl. Karma got them today.

Well clearly, we know who the NFL wants to win. I'm done with the NFL. Betting rules the sport.

What a travesty. The Rams had like 8 plays to get a touchdown because they wouldn't stop calling penalties that they let go all ****ing game long.

I just cannot believe how blatant the NFL was in deciding that game. It's worse than Soviet Olympics nonsense.

That holding call on 3rd and goal was one the worst calls I've ever seen. Add on top of it how they called almost nothing until that point and it makes you wonder. Rough to watch as a football fan but hey, at least it wasn't mahome and the chiefs winning again.

I didn't like the call: but the DB held WR shoulder and it was in LA! They were going to make that call under that scenario no matter what they'd done previously (the black guy from Harvard made it I think). So Bengals covered and LA wins.
