We're rolling out our 2022 SoxProspects pre-season all-star voting for each position. Here is the poll and thread for our utility player voting. Please remember to cast your vote for the utility player in the Red Sox minor league system that you believe will have the best 2022 season. The idea is to vote for the player you predict will perform the best on the field, not who you consider to be the best prospect. Per usual, each player is eligible for only one position and thus will not appear on multiple polls.
This poll will close at the of the day on Sunday, April 10th. Let's do this. Discussion encouraged below!

Shouldn’t Hamilton be here, and not at shortstop? These guys are all legit utility guys who can play some combination of infield, outfield, and catcher. We don't really think of 2B/SS as "utility". |

Yeah, in this process you have to put players somewhere, but with a weak outfield group, I expect Rafaela to be thought of as an outfielder by the end of this season. And after last night, I’d be very surprised if Hamilton isn’t getting substantial reps in the outfield by the end of the season. When did Mookie play his first outfield game? Maybe I just don’t think this is a useful pre-season exercise. |
