AC just texted Joe Castig to say he has mild symptoms and hopes to be back quickly.

Houck looked good today except 3rd inning blip. I love that guy as a pitcher and person. I hope they extend him like Whitlock soon.

WTF is Shaw doing out there? Can't allow that when your offense is struggling so much. I hope Venables is giving it to him out there on the mound.
EDIT: Franchy would've had that...

When that ball was hit, I thought, "okay, at least they didn't give Brasier any inherited runners that would've scored on Vladdy's double..."

Four pitches that weren’t even close to the strike zone. Devers needs to be more patient than that

So does Shaw announce his retirement in the clubhouse right after the game or does he clean himself up and call a press conference?

Shaw basically waving the white flag... FREE FRANCHY I think we have to be grateful that Shaw took a sip from some fountain and gave us one good month last year, but now it's time to shake his hand and send him on his way. But who could replace him who's not striking out too much in AAA? Franchy has 18 Ks in about 56 PAs, Fitzgerald 17 in about 41, Ramos has not hit as he did in Korea... hitting stats: www.soxprospects.com/stats/hitting.php

We could deal with a 40% K-rate as long as there’s a modicum of production…

Is it time to think about giving Cordero another chance on the Big team?

Shaw is pretty clearly not major league caliber anyway. Glacial bat speed. Reminds me of Marwin last year. Hopefully he doesn’t last as long

Let's hope someone at least league average is available when the rosters go back to 26 players. Seen enough of Shaw, I'd give Franchy a shot if I was them. Can't be any worse.

MFYs also down 3-0 in Detroit, going to the 9th.
Cabrera sitting on 2999 hits and Boone intentionally walked him in the 8th. Meadows then hit a 2-run double to make it 3-0.

Four pitches that weren’t even close to the strike zone. Devers needs to be more patient than that Devers sees the fifth fewest pitches of any batter in baseball thus far this season. He's way too good a hitter to be doing that.

Has anyone thrown a CGSHO this season? I know they are a huge rarity in today’s game, but pretty good chance of seeing one today.

Fairly certain Eovaldi was the only pitcher over 100 pitches in a game so far this year (unless somebody has done it in the last couple of days), so I highly doubt that it’s happened
