This is a really good day to follow some of the best pitching prospects in the system. Everyone starting today, with one exception, is a Top 15 guy according to the SP Rankings. Even the lone guy who is lower ranked (Shane Drohan at 52) is still an interesting guy to follow.
Just for fun, does anyone care to predict which of the five named starters has the best pitching line at the end of the day? I’ve never seen any of them pitch so really I’m just kinda picking out of a hat. I’ll say Murphy.

Downs hurt his hand or maybe forearm on a normal looking swinging strike, but stayed in the game after spending time with a trainer.

I don’t know if he’s done after five innings, but it’s a very good outing for him. Five innings, no runs, three hits, four Ks and only two BB.

Interesting lineup for Worcester in this game, 4 lefthanded hitters in a row.

heard from somebody watching the game that Seabold has been hitting 93 a few times but there isn’t a lot of velo info
Him at 91-94 is very different than him at 88-92

Setting the bar high in terms of ERA, yes but in term of dominance, I’m not impressed by a 6 IP, with 5 K and 2 BB and 7 whiffs. He generated a bunch of ground balls so he got that going at least.

Duran made a great aggressive play going first to third on sharp line drive single to left
edit: Bases loaded, Duran scores on a shallow sac fly, Franchy takes second on the throw home and Downs makes a great play to score all the way from second on the attempt to tag Franchy out.

Mayer is really struggling. Forget I ever endorsed the pick.

Marcelo Mayer has now 12 K in his last 6 games. Yorke in his first month in A Ball didn’t struggle like that to make contact. He didn’t also have over 100 PA of Florida Complex League behind him like Mayer did.

Can't tell too much from the Salem broadcasts, but it seems like he's been swinging at a lot of two strike breaking pitches in the dirt, and not swinging at any 0 and 1 strike breaking pitches in the strike zone

I'm going to assume this is some kind of reverse jinx and you all aren't serious.
Of course, Yorke after 10 games was .150/.209/.175 with 15 K.

I’ve also see a few FB being blown by him. At least is not something mechanical with his swing or anything I think it’s good he is struggling early a little bit so he can work on stuff.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d expect high school students— no matter how gifted — to have some early struggles. Setting aside the jump in quality of pitching, I can’t imagine how hard the learning curve is… living on your own, strange town, the workouts, the more demanding schedule.
0% worried.

Yeah I can’t imagine moving from San Diego to Salem, VA. Also, that ballpark is a cavern so we have to account for that
