don't look now but brasier is starting to get his stuff back his era is like 2.3. He’s been pretty good xERA is 7.07, though. 71% (!!!) hard hit percentage against. 8/11 inherited runners have scored.

The Hiro with the highest leverage inning this century of Red Sox baseball. Maybe, just MAYBE he got us of the seller market and then we won't have to trade Xander.

Nothing like some home cooking. Let’s hope this is just the start of some type of role.

I hope AC continues to bring him into clean innings.

The Blue jays and the fans are extatic with there start. Think they are right where they want to be. They are -8 in run differential. Sox fans are ready to through in the Towel. Sox have a -5 run differential. Houston -1. World champ braves -15.

Bats have come alive, but pitching is still the story. Have the starters had any truly terrible games? Really impressive. I knew Wacha and Hill would be descent at least for the first half to 2/3 of the season.

My hope is that at some point this season Duran and Casas can come in and be contributors and be a big upgrade offensively in RF and 1b respectively. Maybe Duran can play well enough to take the vacant leadoff spot. I'm not a fan of Story in the leadoff spot. I wasn't a fan of Kiké Hernandez there either but if he were playing like 2nd half Hernandez I'd want him back there.
So what I'm hoping is that Story, Verdugo, and Hernandez play closer to their capabilities and that Duran and Casas can replace JBJ and Dalbec and with X, Devers, and JDM...actually create a lineup that actually scores runs consistently.
Then if Wacha is for real, maybe by season's end the rotation has Eovaldi, Wacha, Sale, Whitlock, and Hill, with Houck and Pivetta pitching key innings out of the pen. Maybe Paxton can contribute and perhaps bump Hill or even Whitlock if they're trying to keep his innings bump down....they still need a closer, preferably one with experience, who I'm guessing would come out of another organization via trade. Maybe Walter or maybe even German can help the pen? I'm not sure how they piece it together but if they can come out of it with a legit closer maybe the bullpen falls into some sort of workable hierarchy? And maybe the pen stops losing those one run games?
If you squint hard enough you can see a scenario of how the Sox can be competitive, perhaps take a wild card spot - maybe somehow all 3 wild cards come out of the AL East, and maybe field their best team as the season gets into Aug/Sep/Oct.
So the key to the offense is upgrading RF and 1b (Duran and Casas) with everybody else returning to their average season and having enough quality starting pitching options so that rotation depth can serve as the 6th - 8th inning bridges along with Robles, Taylor, Strahm, Brasier (if his velocity is up), and Diekman (not sold on him) to some closer to be named later.

Well the best part is that it's a long season and it's not how you start but how you finish.
Plenty of time to adjust, least hope things get settle and we can improve as the season goes along.
We can beat the so call the best at anytime.

Really small sample size, but I really like Franchy's hitting approach so far. Not nearly the swing and miss like last year. More contact and some are balls are falling in. Maybe better pitching will expose him to be the same as last year, but it would be great if he could sustain putting balls in play for at least a string of games.
