Politi also moving up to Worcester. Hart and Gillies down to Portland to make room.

That's one of the earliest promotions I can remember, or am I crazy? Aren't we usually getting impatient around June because there hasn't been any yet?

Up through 2017 it seemed like we'd always get a May wave of promotions, but it's been slower in recent years. Which makes sense, because 2021 didn't get started til May, 2020 didn't happen, and the system was pretty bad in 2018-19.
Going back through for some merit promotions of Top-30ish prospects: 2017: Aneury Tavarez (5/1), Travis Lakins (5/11), Jamie Callahan (5/11), Shaun Anderson (5/15) 2016: Andrew Benintendi (5/16) 2015: Ty Buttrey (5/1), Jonathan Aro (5/14), Joe Gunkel (5/14), Chandler Shepherd (5/14) 2014: Pat Light (4/24), Travis Shaw (5/26)
As Chris mentioned on Twitter, Bello's up close to 100 innings at Double-A. I'd agree it would be a fast promotion for someone debuting at a level unless it was a conservative placement. There isn't really a great comp for Bello among the above list. Benintendi was the only one who could beat Bello's prospect status, and he was a phenom who got off to a crazy start. Most of the rest were players coming off bad years given conservative placements, often with a bullpen switch that they took to. In that sense, they're more similar to Politi. German would fit this category as well, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him moving up some point this month.

I am happy for both.
I can't wait for Groome and Murphy to follow there lead,
