Entirely unclear to me why DSL Red gets today off when they also get tomorrow off. I wonder if there's an odd number of teams in their pod or whatever?
Also curious whether we get a sort of A lineup/B lineup situation in the FCL. At least in the outfield, they have 6 guys who didn't play yesterday who they probably need to get consistent at-bats.

Is this because of the reduction of minor league teams? Shame if so. Probably gets worse after the draft. |

The Red Sox should consider opening a 2nd FCL team tbh. There are enough potential prospects to field two teams. It'd be a stretch. They currently have 36 healthy guys and roughly 8 open spots on the domestic reserve list. Can you make 2 teams with 44 guys? They've got the catchers and outfielders, and could call up some arms maybe (Burnet would definitely be up). But they have 5 healthy 2B/3B/SS types. Could they bolster that with enough DSL guys? What happens after the draft - do they just cut a bunch of guys? As I've said, the answer is expand the domestic reserve list to at least 190. Then they could definitely field 2 teams. |
