Bit of a stretch but we'll take it. If I am pronouncing his name correctly, there are very few true rhymes - and Khan is one of them. Not that rhymes at all are necessary. I used to think - or thought I heard somewhere - that his name rhymed with insane (which would have been useful). And it apparently doesn't rhyme with man or fan, either.

So a week and a half in, here's how PT is getting divvied up in the FCL
C: Lira and McElveny are the primary catchers. The other guys are rarely catching/are playing a little 1B.
1B: No real 1B, this has been catchers, Feliz, and interestingly, Alexis Hernandez, who Ian kind of liked in ST. My gues is this has been to get him into the lineup given that he's no higher than 5th on the OF priority list for reps.
IF: With Ravelo hurt, Liendo has been the primary SS. Salazar has split time between SS/2B, Zapete has played mostly 2B with some 3B, and James is the primary 3B. Vela plays sparingly. They're very thin here.
OF: Unsurprisingly, crowded. Bleis is the top priority and plays CF. Chacon next priority and he's in right when Bleis plays, CF when he doesn't. Garcia and Castro are splitting LF reps. Vaughan, surprisingly, isn't playing a lot, but I wonder if he's working more behind the scenes to fix himself after his rough time in Salem. Gonzalez is only DH'ing, although doing so pretty regularly. Valdez is a complete afterthought and has played one game. The aforementioned Hernandez is getting some RF reps as well. This is an area where no Lowell hurts. You could've done Bleis/Chacon/Vaughan in Lowell, Castro/Garcia/Hernandez in the FCL.

Might as well do the DSL too:
DSL Blue
C: Rojas/Avila timeshare 1B: Was Sierra regularly, but I note he's started 2 in a row in the OF with Jose Mendez (a SS last year...) starting here. MIF: De Leon is your regular SS. Alcantara plays 2B when he's in the lineup, SS when he's not. 3B: Mota started first 2, then apparently got hurt. Now a Rodriguez/Mendez/Flores sort of timeshare thing. OF: Diaz, Asigen, Ayubi, Lugo split the three OF spots and DH usually.
DSL Red C: He didn't start on opening day but Johanfran Garcia is the guy here. He's also playing some 1B to keep his bat in the lineup. 1B: Liriano IF: Encarnacion is the usual SS but is already getting some 3B reps. Linarez is the SS backup. Noria the 3B when Encarnacion isn't there. OF: Yuten/Simon/Asencio all rotate.

Nice game for Fraymi De Leon. 3 for 3 with a triple and a walk. Had been off to a slow start to the season. Hopefully this is the type of game that can give him momentum.

Granberg to Worcester.
Made sense given Mieses was going to be playing every day and they had one bench player besides Grullón and Baldwin, who are basically bullpen catchers. Might be temporary though: Kiké can come back on Saturday and we'll see how long Arroyo is out.
EDIT: Forgot 2 things: 1) Refsnyder is out of options, 2) Sunday is (in theory) the 13-pitcher deadline. Given that only one OF is going back down, they can keep Granberg in Worcester.

Do you know why Mieses was not playing more earlier in the year? He looked to me to be a better option than some of the players who were getting more time.

He got eaten alive in AAA last year after some initial success right after his call-up (.158/.250/.291 in his last 144 PA), so I don't lie that there's any reason to say he's better than the guys they've been playing in the outfield, who've all been pretty good.

They need to play a guy at every position. I don't think it's irregular to have an every day 1B there at all. It just probably means he's not a stud prospect.

Paulino bomb. OPS over 800 now That's a no-doubter. Look at the pitcher's shoulders slump, then look at the RF, who doesn't even move...

It just probably means he's not a stud prospect. I hadn't thought about it like that. If you're a regular 1B in the lower minors, you should probably be interviewing for other jobs on your off days...
