FYI - we only need the one Affiliate Gameday Scoreboard link now. The FCL and DSL games have been added. Finally! Let's hope it's permanent.

Can I just say that today's Cup of Coffee photo is the absolute best? It looks like he could just stand on air forever.

Romero (SS), Anthony (RF), Coffey (DH) all in the lineup for the FCL. Bleis (CF), too.
Paez starting.

Joan Martinez was released. Was surprised by this at first because the raw stuff had always been viewed pretty favorably, but then saw that he was 25, so makes a bit more sense

Granted, it was a 3-0 fastball, but Rafaela's HR came off of top prospect Kyle Harrison.

Marvin Alcantara was pulled from the game after a stolen base in the third inning. Might have gotten banged up.

Granted, it was a 3-0 fastball, but Rafaela's HR came off of top prospect Kyle Harrison. The fact that he was in a 3-0 count, meaning he didn't chase anything earlier in the at-bat, is almost as exciting as the home run itself.

Quick thought/question - why in God's name are they giving at bats to Danny Santana in the Florida Complex League?? They have 1,000 guys down there that need at bats.... He has no point in the Major League season/team now that the ship is sinking. If you want to live up to some agreement you had with him, at least have him/make him take those at bats at Worcester, not take them from some young kid that may have a future in the organization. JMHO

They surround him at every opportunity, and even when he has been scheduled to come out of the game before the late innings he has stayed in the dugout with them, no leaving early. The FCL coaching staff is great, but nothing beats someone with major league experience sitting next to you as a teammate. Edit: last Saturday. I think he was trying hard to teach them not to mug for the photographer (and failing).

The kids get some mentoring from a big leaguer while he gets the reps he needs to be AAA depth for the stretch run. It's not really different from having guys coming off the IL do rehab starts at low-levels.

Railin Perez with a great 4 inning relief outing in the FCL (4IP, 2H, 1ER, 0BB, 7K).
On the season he is: 20.1IP, 12H, 3ER, 6BB, 27K
Might deserve a look in Salem at some point.

Dude's been consistent. His ceiling will be dictated by how much more power he can add to his repertoire but you have to like the foundation (e.g., feel for secondaries, control, etc.).
