Johnfrank Salazar catcher? That's a new one! My sense from asking around is this is a "try it on" sort of thing where they'll see how it looks. Makes a lot of sense given how crowded the infield is at those levels - once the FCL guys went up to Salem he barely played. Might be adding a glove to his bag, might be permanent, they might abandon it (Heiker Meneses caught at Instructs one year and didn't catch after that really), who knows? The other interesting thing was Zayas being listed in the outfield. My guess is they'll move him around and try to find him a spot, but again, awfully crowded in the infield at that level.

Is this pretty much the list of DSL guys expected to start next season in the FCL?
No Fraymi De Leon is disappointing, but he didn't hit this year.

Any notable additions or missing persons from this list? The only Top 60 guys below Portland not otherwise in Arizona are Gilberto Jimenez and Eduardo Lopez. As VTSox caught on IG, it looks like Jimenez is in the DR playing for his LIDOM team. Lopez might just be getting a full offseason after a year in which he had three different stretches of missed injury time, although it's also not ideal that he's not there. For non-AFL or winter ball Portland guys, Koss, Hamilton, Fernandez, and Wallace aren't there. The former two tied for second in the system in PA, so they got their work in. Fernandez finished the year on the IL. Wallace I could see them wanting to just shut him down for a full offseason as well. So none of those really surprise me. For guys just outside the top 60 I may have expected, the aforementioned Fraymi isn't there, which is probably a sign he is on the US/DSL bubble for next year. Yizreel Burnet isn't there but he was hurt to end the year. After that you're on fringier guys like Jhostynxon Garcia, Alexis Hernandez, Miguel Ugueto. Is this pretty much the list of DSL guys expected to start next season in the FCL? No Fraymi De Leon is disappointing, but he didn't hit this year. Not necessarily. Last year the FPP included Cesar Ruiz, who did not come stateside after all, and did not include Luis Talavera, Railin Perez, Michael Valera, Alexis Hernandez, Ronald Rosario, and Ahbram Liendo (probably the biggest name here), who all did.

I have an ignorant question. Do the players get paid more when a team expands their season like this?

I have an ignorant question. Do the players get paid more when a team expands their season like this? Typically, no. May get per diem.

He seems quite leggy to fold up into a catcher--should be interesting! (Love the cleats, BTW.)

Unsurprising. I wonder if the Winter Warm-Up will be larger as a result.
