It's odd to see two games in a row both Jason & Jalen shoot so poorly from 3. It is good to see Jason get more assists early on, reminds me of Bird, how the rare night he shot poorly he get more assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks shots than his norm. He'd find a way to beat you.

Hawks are collapsing everytime the Jayson and Jaylen touch the ball. Just pass it to Hauser/Williams and Pritchard in the corners, it’s open every time.

No Smart - no Brogdon? Tatum and Brown off? No problem.
Grant, Payton and Sam are combined 13-19 from threes.
So many weapons. Derek White brillliant game.
And the Js show up in the 4th. Awesome - pummeling a good team on their court.
Hauser is currently a +36

I think that depth may be a reason why they consider a trade for more depth with their bigs/center position. Horford's age and Rob's health it makes sense to at least explore that thought out. They did not extend Williams which makes me wonder if he's someone they would move in a trade. I'm not advocating for it, just trying to connect dots that might not even be there. The other position of strength is guard, and I think moving Pritchard you would not get enough value back, so if we did move a guard I think you could make a case for any of the other three. Of course they could allways ride or die. If the Celtics were to make a change who do you think would be the key piece from our end?

Luke Kornet - 7 for 7, 8 boards, 4 blocks. Maybe we do have our big guy key backup?

I’m quoting Eddie House, the Hawks got mollywhopped. D.White 10 assist 5 rebs. 16 points. The bench points were over 40. Making it look easy guys.

Luke Kornet - 7 for 7, 8 boards, 4 blocks. Maybe we do have our big guy key backup? He's been pretty good for a while now. When/if we ever get fully healthy we could have a second five that's better than many teams starting five. Brogdon, White, Sam Houser, Grant Williams and Kornet, with a starting five of Smart, Brown, Tatum Horford and Williams, and crap I forgot Pritchard. Tonights game Hauser was a silly +35 to lead the team, 15 pts and 6 rebounds. Tatum had his first sub 20 of the season but had 7 rebounds and 8 assist and a second best +28. The team was 17 of 30 from 3 minus the Jays. Horford w/ 11 rebounds, White w/ 10 assist. And the Celts played a good Atlanta team and pretty much dominated the game, without Smart, Brogdon or Williams. Great team win.

Some interesting tests lie ahead. Dallas, Sacramento, Miami X 2, Toronto, Phoenix, Golden State. Going to be a fun few weeks.

Luke Kornet - 7 for 7, 8 boards, 4 blocks. Maybe we do have our big guy key backup? He’s a really sound defender - always in the right position and always goes straight up. He struggles rebounding outside his area, but that’s his only big weakness on the defensive end. Now that he’s started looking at the basket and dunking whenever he’s close to it, he’s turned into a solid rotation player.

Wanted to answer the “what do you do with Pritchard?” Question. My answer, per usual, is “it depends”…. Your goal is to win a Title and 2 of the guys ahead of him (Smart and Brogdon) miss time regularly so he’s really valuable to have. That being said, he is a luxury and we have a spot where it’s be nice to have a “guy like him” aka reliable backup that can step in and start and that’s at center. So if you can deal PP for a real big then you really need to consider it. What’s realistic on that from tho? He does free you up to trade White. I don’t know what the Pacers plan is, but this Celtics team would look amazing with Turner. He’s on an expiring contract but with Williams injury history and Al’s next contract and role going way down, you could justify giving him 20m per year and he’d have a big role. Whites size next to Halliburton isn’t a problem. Would White and a first for Turner make sense for either team? I love Turner yet I wouldn't do it. For me White and Turner are basically equal type players. Robert Williams is coming back, like this for me is something you discuss if he just got injured and lost for the year. I do get it, I'd be interested to see what Robert Williams, Turner and Horford could do. Yet not for White and a first. I will say I'm intrigued what our coach could do for Turner on offense given what he's done for so many players and especially Kornet. Turners offense always seems to come and go, maybe this system finally unlocks it. Yet he's never going to be Horford either. Sorry for the rant, it's hard because I love Turner. Yet White is a perfect fit, he's like Smart. I'd like to see Stevens actually make a first round pick sometime. Though he's doing damn well adding young talent without them. I like the ability to play different ways, really enjoying the way our coach has the offense going. Robert Williams creates a big challenge with that, Williams and Turner would be a massive challenge. Why I would have targeted Derrick Favors type. Good enough to play playoff minutes, yet also the type that can not play in certain games by coaches decision.

Yea, I mean as an add to the squad and not in place of… plus, who’s souls doesn’t a motivated Embiid own? It’s especially bad with Myles, Joel even rips on how much he owns him to the media. It’s downright disrespectful and there isn’t much Myles can do about it Like Theis does better head to head. Myles is obviously the far superior player in a matchup against every other team though and for that reason I’d be cool with him coming here The worst D I've ever seen against Embiid was Kornet hands down. I truly feared Embiid was going to hurt him.

I thought White would prove to be redundant because I thought Brogdon was the best case of his offense and Smart was the best case of his defense and both are acceptable the other way. But I agree that now he's just too valuable, especially given injury risks with Smart and Brogdon.

Hawks are collapsing everytime the Jayson and Jaylen touch the ball. Just pass it to Hauser/Williams and Pritchard in the corners, it’s open every time. I didn’t really see a lot of “forced” 3s. I will say Tatum should have gone to bucket more last night than he did, but my main point of commenting is to say “you can’t tell shooters not to shoot when they don’t have it”. That’s not a mentality they do or should have. How does a confident player just decide “tonight’s not a good night for me so I won’t shoot”? It just comes up a lot when a player has a bad shooting night, but remember these are guys who are just as likely to turn a 1 for 9 into a 9 of 20 night as they are to continue struggling. But Tatum should have attacked the basket more last night. He looked tired to me; he’s been playing a ton of minutes and they’ve been short handed a bunch lately.

Yeah I didn’t expect Brogdon to be out this long. I think the other guys there giving rests to here and there. Like last night Smart didn’t play . It’s good to see Galliniari even though he was in street clothes. This bench is deep I agree.

Some talk of Cs interest in Jakob Poeltl.
Not sure if Brian Robb was first but that's where I saw it.

I can't see how the price on Jakob wouldn't be too high for a backup center, but if Stevens gets him for a reasonable deal then he should get a statue at the Garden.

Broadcast picked it up but Hauser may be in that sweet spot where teams try and target him in iso and play too much 1 on 1 when he’s on the court…but he’s not bad enough defensively to justify doing it. He just *looks* bad enough defensively

I'm just listening - but this sounds like an ugly third Q for both teams. Wow.
