Rochester's Tyler Robertson did pitch a hitless 6th inning. Problem was the 5 walks led to 3 runs. Speaking of which, nibblin' Brian Johnson's 5 walks in 2.2 innings of low A ball are not too encouraging. Trust your stuff. Wait, Wait, no don't.

For as deep as this system is, Greeneville is brutal position wise

5 walks for BJ and a HR not good but he had a bit of a long lay-off there so lets give him time before we crown Temple.

To be fair to Johnson, he hasn't pitched in two weeks due to illness. Let's not jump to conclusions based on this start, eh?
In other action, Tiger Death House is 2-4 with 2 2B (and 2 K). I'm officially intrigued.

I agree.
April is a bit early...
"Kolbrin Vitek of pitchers" Is way harsh and somehow to both !

William Cuevas regal width a quality start(1 hit) and Britton while not efficient only gave up one earned.
It seems in prior years we had only a few quality starts per week. So far, we seem to have a couple a night.

Hernandez with the tough luck loss gaining up only 2 on 2 doubles(one the result of an outfield collision of some sort).

On the other hand, 2012 was a unexpected also, given his earlier struggles. We'll find out soon enough if this is a new trajectory. For now, he looks like he might be a power bat in the making. That's probably the only way he gets to the majors as a first baseman.

It would be great to know whether Almanzar is just hot, or saw blinding lights on the road to Damascus this past Winter or even early Spring and decided to work on his game like a professional. When I saw him and Bogaerts in North Carolina last summer, it was clear both that Almanzar was bigger than Bogaerts--not stocky or fat but great wide shoulders--and that he loafed his way through warmups in a "what-me-worry?" sort of way.

It's kind of like how a pitcher with great stuff and no control gives you more to dream on than a pitcher with great control and no stuff. You might be able to teach the first guy to have control; you're never going to teach someone throwing 88 to throw 98. You can't teach a guy with great makeup and no tools to have tools; you can kind of hope that the guy with tools but bad makeup will eventually pull his head out of his ass.
