 Hi everyone! Welcome to Fort Myers! Just starting a quick thread to a) get that 2021 thread out of the top spot...  b) point out that as challenging as it has been for me to get photos of Miguel Bleis that show his face, this year looks even harder, and  c) to note that I finally saw Freili Encarnacion, 2nd highest ranked prospect I hadn't seen (look out Marvin Alcantara, I'll find you!). Early trip for me is mostly folks who might play for the WooSox this year, but I'll add some of those and some arriving lower minors players in the next few days. Later in the month I'll be back for minor league games. |

Bet you thought I'd be right back with photos, right?  Joke's on you (and Juan Chacon)! It's hard to know where to start. March 3 was pretty early in minor league camp, and it looked like "get here and work out a little" was the day's agenda. I was stalking the big club's pitchers workout hoping I might get some of the new guys in uniform...  ... thank you, Matt Dermody! But in the meantime a lot of folks passed by.  Who can resist Bello with an old friend?  Marvin Alcantara! (OK, I hope I'll get better photos soon but I did find him!)  Karson Simas and Bryant Zayas play a little not-baseball.  Luis Perales, Luis Talavera and Jedixson Paez give me false hope that maybe something will be happening in the bullpen. (There wasn't, as far as I could tell.) So I settled for some baserunning drills.  Nick Yorke  Cutter Coffey (More in the gallery but I did a terrible job of shooting backs of jerseys to ID players...)  The afternoon game was over at Hammond--got my first look at Ryan Sherriff in a Sox uniform.  Did not get the terrific Rafaela catch photo I'd hoped for, but did what I could...  And got a glimpse of Gilberto Jimenez (but you never want to see the batter look your way like this when you're in the photo pit).
