Over/under 5.5 draftees ranked in new update? If we're talking top30 I'll take the under. If we are talking top 60 I'll still take the under.: Teel, Zanetello, Anderson (top30), and then Duffy and maybe Campbell or Early.

They also signed Chansol Lee out of a Korean HS for those looking for UDFAs. Not the same at all, but it is a high school pitching pickup for the system, and one would imagine with high upside given the lengths to which they must have gone to scout him.

I'll take the under in the top 60, but right at 5.

Didn’t really cross my mind that Riemer is going to be out til next year, bummer as he’s a guy I figured would hit the ground running like Meidroth did.

I think only the top 3 in the draft could make top 30, unless the Korean HS pitcher is worthy. In prior years maybe more, but Top 8 is likely in some order:
Mayer, Raffaela, Bleis, Anthony, W Gonzalez, Perales, Yorke + Teel
And next 19 are likely these guys in some order, bucketed by where in system vs a prospect order:
E Valdez, B Walter, C Murphy (3) up and down crew, plus
Other Upper Minors (7): Abreu, Jordan, Meidroth, Hickey Drohan, Mata, Dobbins
Lower Levels (9) Bonaci, Romero, J Garcia, Y Cespedes, + probably Zanetello and Anderson Rodriguez-Cruz, J Monegro, A Bastardo
I think you can argue for inclusion of higher up guys who have shown more vs younger guys with maybe more upside to take the last 3 spots. But I think these 27 probably all make the Top 30 cut.
It's good to not be able to fit every guy who could make the majors into top 30.

I mean, last year's underslot 5th rounder who is having a real rough season is ranked in the 40's. I would put this year's top 7 guys on the top 60.

The Korean signing is an IFA, so not super related to the draft discussion. My guess is 6 ranked (Teel, Zanatello, Anderson, Duffy, Campbell, Taylor) with Riemer and Early being quick risers once they actually get into games next year (assuming they shut Early down).

5-7 sounds right?
I find myself pushing Zanetello higher each time I look at things, fwiw. Haven't gotten much further down though yet.

Yes it was a year later, but there was a bonus gap of $700k and his tools give him a way higher ceiling. Zanetello vs Bonaci is actually a tougher call for me

Zanetello vs Bonaci is actually a tougher call for me Just curious, what makes you prefer Bonaci to Romero? Bonaci just looks like a beast. He’s much stronger, has proven he’ll take a walk (although that is down this year), and has gotten good results basically at every stop of the minors up to where he is now (a 20 year old in high A). It’s not a knock on Romero either. Bonaci is just seeming increasingly legitimate.

Over/under 5.5 draftees ranked in new update? Good question. If my math is correct, nine 2022 draftees are now in the top 60. I'll take the over on 5.5 2023 draftees ranked in the new update, even with the Admins appropriately slow-playing new additions to the system.

More relevant - we ranked 5 out of the gate last year, 4 the year prior.

Riemer signing is official. Sox also signed University of Tampa 2B Drew Ehrhard as a UDFA.

Ehrhard played six years of college ball lol When I looked him up on baseball cube I thought it was doing that thing where it doubled each line item (saw a few like this looking up draft profiles). But nope, we got the Van Wilder of Tampa
