Dobbins will give it a go though. Nice tribute.

Is there a general expectation for when the draftees will debut? I know many of them are in Ft. Myers already. Follow up question is are all of them expected to start in the FCL, and then select guys (Teel for sure, maybe Tucker and Stebens/some of the other pitchers) move to Salem after a week or so?

Last year they debuted August 9 but the draft was a week later than this year. So, any day now you would think

Last year Romero, Coffey, and Anthony signed close to the signing deadline at the end of July and they all debuted on August 9. I'd expect something similar to that, but wouldn't be surprised if it was earlier, specifically with Teel who I think will only be the FCL for a week or so. I also wouldn't be surprised if a few of the pitchers get into games on a limited basis soon.

Something to watch: Roman Anthony has struck out 21 times in 45 ABs in July. Also struck out 11 times in his last 16 ABs.

Ovis Portes making his season debut down in the DSL. Nice! He was quietly good in the DSL last year as a 17 year old. Struck out the side in a perfect inning for his debut today.

Cespedes rolled out of bed and had the normal 2/2, 2B and a walk before lighting stopped him from doing further damage.

Rosier with a leadoff walk, steals 2 and then scores on an error. Guy's hitting .307/.360/.492 with 33 steals, can't he get some SP love? Still 23 so not exactly old for his level.

It’s like 98 outside and one of the Richmond players is wearing long sleeves and a gaitor mask..

Not for nothing but the Worcester announcers are actually better than DOB by a country mile.

Rafaela imitating Rosier.
Single to right on a low inside pitch, stole 2nd and scored on the catcher airmailing the throw while the center fielder lollygagged.
14 game hitting streak. Trending up while Mayer and Anthony are trending down. Just sayin'.

Not for nothing but the Worcester announcers are actually better than DOB by a country mile. Worcester has a really extraordinary collection of talented broadcasters--enough that they have a separate awesome radio broadcast alongside the TV team--and, not incidentally, a terrific group of photo and video folks in Tayla Bolduc, Ashley Green and Eddie Monigan. Truly unreal quality for a AAA team.
