Love the production from the top 7, although I think Duran and Duvall are trending down. Casas, on the other hand, is trending up. Reyes will come back down to earth imo. But what I’m also noticing here is a steep drop from Verdugo at .770 to Refsnyder at .690. I believe jmei alluded to, if not outright stated, this in another thread, but for all the talk about depth from the front office, that’s a pretty staggering drop-off. And it has resulted in negative WAR at SS and 2B. I’d have to imagine the Mondesi situation really threw a wrench in their plans. You put a couple of guys between Refsnyder and Verdugo and all of the sudden, you’re probably looking at a few more wins and we’re sitting much prettier in the wild card race. Apples and oranges because, well, they’re different sports, but Bill Belichick is known for investing in the middle-class of the roster. Seems to work pretty well for him. Chaim would do well to try to be better in this regard. Curious if Rafaela could muster a .691 ops as a rookie and make the top 9…alas, nowhere to play him unless Duran is hurt. Eh, I think if you take a look at the teams across the league you’ll find that 8 guys with > 100 PA and >.700 OPS is pretty darn good. The Astros have 6, for reference. And like incandenza pointed out, Refsnyder has a .373 OBP. If that’s the 9th best hitter on the team then the lineup has good depth. If anything, it’s the heart of the order that’s been light this year with Devers’ and Yoshida’s inconsistency. If they both get hot like we know they can, though? That’s the easiest pathway to the playoffs.

I’ve been at a wedding today so naturally they slammed the Yankees. Should I just stop watching games? Whether or not you should stop watching Yankees games depends on your personal feelings and how much you enjoy following the team. Criticism and rivalries are common in sports, and it's natural for fans of different teams to engage in friendly banter or even heated discussions. If you're a true Yankees fan and enjoy watching their games, you shouldn't let occasional criticism or teasing from others deter you from following your favorite team. Remember that sports are a source of entertainment and enjoyment, and being a fan means experiencing both highs and lows with your team. If the negative comments bother you, you can choose to ignore them or engage in a friendly and respectful manner, emphasizing the camaraderie of sports. Ultimately, the decision to continue watching Yankees games should be based on your own passion and enjoyment of the sport, rather than the opinions of others.
