Our bats are hibernating again smh yea, it feels weird to complain about 7 runs but i'd have preferred if the bats didn't just die after the second inning One hit since Brito left the game…

Not saying these guys are all better, but here's the top 10 RHP off the top of my head: - Cy Young - Christy Mathewson - Grover Alexander - Walter Johnson - Bob Feller - Bob Gibson - Tom Seaver - Greg Maddux - Roger Clemens - Pedro Martinez To be honest, I'm not sure Pedro is in the top 3 of that group. Absolutely top 3 in terms of best 7-year peak but his career faded quickly. Walter Johnson was still throwing BBs at 38. Looking at bref WAR, maybe Feller doesn't belong but if he played during the war then he'd have gotten close. His 7-year peak could have been incredible. There's also those pre-1900 guys that could belong. Same with the 70s/80s folks. Verlander and Scherzer are getting close but I feel like they are still a tier below Maddux/Clemens/Pedro. Satchel Paige likely belongs in the list too. I think when you're picking a GOAT it has to be about their prime. Like, if you could pick one guy from any era to start on your all time greats team, who would it be? For me I think that answer is Pedro. He did not have the best career of all time among SPs, but was he the best player? I think so. At his peak he is the best I have seen and he did it during the steroid era and had to face the DH's.

I swear these dudes only win when I can’t watch. They have to be 15 under .500 when I do
Can’t blame a brewery for not having dumbass Apple TV either.

282 ft...would have barely been a HR in the little league game I was watching in Williamsport edit: I guess I heard that wrong. Thought they said 282 not 342

I would keep Whitlock in there for the 9th despite the homer.

HR in 1/30 ballparks. 342', .560 xBA. Classic. That porch is ridiculous. Of course Masa’s homer would only have cleared 3/30, but still not as ridiculous as this Yankee stadium unicorn.

Came to check the distance. That’s a ball where the RF at Fenway doesn’t even need to move. I want it struck from Whitlock’s record

Very good outing for Whit: seeing eye single and a pop-up were the only "runs" he scoffed. He was painting the corners and inducing whiffs and grounders.

Back in the day it was 296 ft to the foul pole in the house that Ruth built. Bobby Murcer HR totals dried uo when they moved to Shea during the renovation.
