Looks like Zanetello, Anderson, and Campbell are with Salem.

Looks like Zanetello, Anderson, and Campbell are with Salem. Actually, Campbell apparently went straight to Greenville. I wonder if a Portland starter will go up to Worcester. 7 guys in Portland, 4 in Worcester. I wouldn't be surprised if Monegro went to Greenville.

Does it seem like the pitchers are just going to hang back in Florida for the fall? Wouldn't blame the org at all for going that route

I bet you could see someone like Luis Cohen in Salem if Monegro goes up, and they'll likely activate Mullins.

Yeah, the draftees. Not sure what you mean by a limited roster, just figured that since most of them pitched full collegiate seasons they would keep them down there to work on some things and bridge the gap until the Fall Development Program as opposed to forcing game action in A-ball or something.

I meant that it'd be hard to promote them to a team with a roster limit given the reduced workload. FCL has no roster max. We're basically in agreement. FPP is probably going to be early this year - Mid-sept to the end of the month - so they might get a week off or something or they might stay.

My irrational excitement about Campbell is not going to wane with this news. Get it, young man!

Blaze Jordan has fourth best K% among 88 23 and under Eastern League players with 100 PA. Behind top prospect Luis Matos who is playing everyday in the majors now, and two guys three year older than Blaze.

Yesterday, on the first pitch after Hamilton's HR, Rafaela was hit by a pitch and didn't look happy.
Today, he was hit by pitches twice. No retribution, no ejections. Doesn't seem right to me but what do I know.

I was semi watching the WooSox and listening to the Red Sox. Bearclaw looked very sharp to me. I think he's a better pitcher than I was thinking. Very efficient except for a 6th inning small command loss.

Very efficient except for a 6th inning small command loss. I didn't get to see any of the WooSox last night, but I agree -- he generates a ton of bad contact, especially pop ups. I'm concerned about the command loss, though - he's had an inning where he's come out just off kilter in other starts I've seen him. He's always righted the ship, but MLB hitters are going to take advantage of that more. I agree though, he's a much better pitcher than your usual MLFA fodder, I'm pretty confident he could be a back-of-bullpen swingman type. It's a cool story too, because he was a medium leverage reliever for all those years with the Marlins and Angels and then reinvented himself as a starter.

It's a cool story too, because he was a medium leverage reliever for all those years with the Marlins and Angels and then reinvented himself as a starter. I was flipping back and forth whenever Duvall or Abreu came up so it wasn't continuous watching but, except for the sixth he just looked like a pitcher with a plan and executing that plan. Whereas, most minor league pitchers seem like throwers most of the time to me. I really hadn't watched much of him this year, I've been mostly watching the WooSox hitters so it was a bit of a surprise. (I flip around a lot).
