Williams, Maye, Sanders and Daniels have all put together top-5 pick tape this season. If you take each of their worst games, you’d say “this guy ain’t a first rounder.”
That’s not the point.
If Sanders and Ewers come out, I expect to see a record number of first round quarterbacks drafted this year.
Note: fwiw, Penix has also put out top 5 pick tape, but his ridiculous supporting cast and significant injury history knock him down a peg for me.

A lot of guys with serious arm talent this year, that would be a welcome change of pace for the Pats offense. Get a guy who can throw outside

Notre Dame has a great defense, 16th in points per game after playing 4 straight ranked teams. It has loads of talent that will play in the NFL. It's top CB did as good of a job shutting down Marvin Harrison Jr. as any player in the nation has. They sacked Williams 6 times and covered his WR all game. My opinion hasn't changed, I'd still take him #1 overall. You still see his talent and I've seen him do well against good teams multiple times. He just doesn't have the talent like Ohio State, those two WRs and that TE are elite.
Notre Dame QB has crap for weapons to throw too. They have talent, but are young and inexperienced. So it's hard to judge him overall. He's not a first round or 2nd round type guy though. He's more Bo Nix type guy, a skilled gamer type QB, than elite talent. He throws a great deep ball, but doesn't have elite arm strength. He can move around and make plays, he isn't elite at it. He's your we went WR/OT early type guy and will take a chance on someone latter type QB. In a perfect world he could be a Brock Purdy type QB.
Penix is the best QB I've watched. He destroyed Oregon and that D destroyed Sanders. He has a crazy injury history and his supporting cast is very good. 3 WRs who will get drafted, including one likely in first. Doesn't change the fact of his arm talent and that he's doing timing throws. Interception yesterday because WR tripped, because he threw it before WR made his break to get open. Only watched two games, but he does that crap all the time. Throw to WR before they are open, not throwing to guys who get open. That's Tom Brady like crap and exactly what you want to see. He scan the field and goes threw his options, using his many options. Busted play, center snaps ball early, he just throws it away, rather than trying to do too much. I obviously need to do more research, he's just darn impressive. He also keeps improving. If he didn't have a long injury history, he would easily be in mix for top 5 pick. For those that don't know he was injured four straight years at Indiana, two years with ACL issues. At same time, no injuries at Washington last two years.
