Andrew Callahan says he spoke with front-office people around the league and the Pats should have been able to get Duggar: 2nd or 3rd Uche: 3rd or 4th Onwenu: 5th Bourne: 5th or 6th. (preinjury I assume) Mills: 7th If these valuations are correct, I would have: Traded Duggar unless they want to resign him AND they think they have a very high probability of resigning him. Sent Uche packing Kept Onwenu unless they think there is low probabiity of him resigning Could go either way on Bourne Much as I hate Mills (as a player not as a person)...I would keep him If you could have gotten a 3rd for Uche and didn't and then he walks. I don't know how someone isn't in Kraft's ear asking why Bill is still the GM. I'm sure they already are, but if that's true, that's next level asset mismanagement. Again, I know about 1 in 100 6th-7th rounders are any good, but I like more darts than not. I'm happy with Pop Douglas. A late 5th could be used in a package to move up 2 spots to get a guy you really like in the draft or flip for future picks or acquire a Talib type of player. There's value in these picks. They sign them all then there's really nothing they should have done. The defense should have been good, but injuries wrecked them. So I do get it if they retain them. They just have to do it. Sounds like he talked to some lower levels in the front office and got some opinions not based in reality but he gets to report it because it’s not a lie

There is other damage done by dumping good players for little or nothing. How so? The team is talentless to begin with and the idea is moving on from pieces you have little to no interest in retaining. Because these are people and if you trade someone who’s been good for you for nothing other than just to get some pittance in return that’ll affect how the players in and outside the building look at your organization.

Because these are people and if you trade someone who’s been good for you for nothing other than just to get some pittance in return that’ll affect how the players in and outside the building look at your organization. They all understand it's a business in the end. Even Matthew Slater has basically stated not retiring was a mistake. They've recovered from miserable locker rooms in the past as well with the infamous, "I just can't get this team to play the way we need them to play" year. Would trading Dugger to a contender really tear the locker room apart beyond recovery? Once he's a free agent he can just easily walk, unless they franchise him. This is also the same GM who has traded away guys with the philosophy "a year early better than a year late" and has a track record of not wanting to pay guys. I'm sure they've had to recover in the locker room for various players over the years. Beyond that, there's really not many guys on this team I care about how they feel to begin with.

"They are talentless, why didn't they trade their talent for good picks?" They have 1-2 guys who had maybe mid-round talent. They could have moved a few guys for 5-7th rounders which isn't really a ringing endorsement.

The difference in hit rate between a 6th round pick and an undrafted free agent is pretty negligible You find more success in the 5th obviously but still not a lot. And besides, that’s Bill’s ST round anyway.

Callahan's source said Uche could have brought a 3rd or 4th. The Jags reporter said the Pats wanted a 4th but the Jags wouldnt give more than a 5th. So if the Pats wanted a 4th and Uche could return a 3rd or 4th, then there should have been a deal...or someone's info is wrong.

I tend to give more weight to the ones not hunting out TV/Radio appearances. There's a brisk market for rumor mongers.

I jinxed Jayden Daniels
Penix vs Williams was a good show. Washington’s RB had an outrageous game

I'm excited to see what Mac Jones does and to watch Douglas/Boutte along with Thornton if he's healthy. Is this also the time our OC finally does the smart thing and puts Gesecki at WR?
If Mac Jones is going to lock onto a single WR like he's done for 3 year, first Meyers than Bourne. I'm excited to see that with Douglas.
We'll also get to see if JuJu play has been health versus better players and no connection with Mac Jones, he has no choice now, especially if Thornton is out.
I kinda expect a big game for Mac Jones. Washington D has been horrible, they just traded two very good pass rushers.
Also get to watch the QB I would have taken over Zappe.

Bill Belichick has transitioned to Rod Rust before our eyes.

Okay I'm still down for getting a good look at Douglas, Reagor and Thornton. News flash with that group you better throw some balls over 20 yards or I don't know what the game plan is. Use Reagor and Thorntons size speed combos to take some deep shots, otherwise you should have Boutte playing.
Also be happy if this mean actually getting Gesecki split wide at WR. He's a different player receiver wise split wide than inline. With Brown you still have two TE to put inline, he's the better inline player and his receiving is much better than I thought it would be.

Mac Jones, with great protection, overthrows Thornton by 10 yards. You need your QB to be able to make that throw.

Just decided to tune into the game on Sirius - listened for about 10 min. Sounds horrendous.
I don't see Mac, coach B - or heaven help us if they bring him on board, McDaniel - as answers. I have no idea what the answer is for this mess.
