juJu really fought hard for that ball that got them off to a positive start for a change. This team could have picked up 4-5 w's like this with a bunch a lousy teams they played, but no-dice so they are where they are. Nice to see a good road win with effort. I would have said 'great' but for the stupid special teams errors. I was a little surprised at Steel' but hey it is Thursday night.
For all those who want to tank they really need loses coming up. I want them to beat the Jets but as for the rest no, they'd be much better off with a great draft board.

OL talk, anyone? PFF grades Trent as #3 OT through Week 13. Big Mike always looks, and grades, well no matter where he's put. A couple of bad plays this past Sunday put aside. Why not resign them both as bookends? Patscap has NE @ about 75M in cap room for 2024, with another 20-25M easily gotten. The Dolphins just extended RT Austin Jackson for 3 & up to 39M, with 20+ guaranteed. Give Mike a little bump on that, say 5 and 80. Give Trent 22 per x 4 or 5. The guards are young and, for now, cheap -- let's make the OL a strength again? If you are hesitant to give Trent a large highly guaranteed multiyear contract, maybe franchise tag him to give us another year to fix the line.

FWIW, Bedard proposes tagging Henry. All TEs are free agents and the tag is 13m.
I'd like Pharoah Brown back too.

The nice thing about last game was with everyone out, Bourne, Parker, Douglas, Stevenson and Boutte, Zappe shows you in one week increased chemistry with Henry, Juju and Thornton. Showed you what our OC tried to do since game one, go down the field to open up things. Mac Jones just couldn't make those deep throws and get through his reads to find open guys. Juju sure didn't look like a guy playing with one destroyed knee lol.
2nd half playing conservative and your offense looked horrible. Steelers game plan, like most teams is to take away run and short passes, make you beat them downfield.
Zappe is much better moving around in the pocket, faking the pass to run and get the first down is the type of heads up crap Mac Jones never does. At the same time he's like Mac Jones, in that with good mechanics he can throw daggers, bad mechanics on rushed throws you see the lack of really good arm strength. I want to see more of those quick ten yard strike daggers. Showed great timing and the ball came out quickly, Brady like almost. Only difference is Brady did that all game, Zappe did it a few times.
I'm not surprised Thornton looks better with Zappe, playing on 2nd string with him in practice. Why I'm excited to get Boutte healthy, they showed Chemistry in preseason. On the other hand, Reagor was again disappointing. Add in Gesecki being a zero.
Zappe basically shows you why he's a very good backup QB and just like last year why he can do things Mac Jones can't. 2nd OC in 2nd season, wasn't good in camp and preason, but he's coachable and improves as the year goes along. Zappe kills every narrative people use as excuses for Mac Jones. Bad coaching the last two years, doesn't seem so for him. Not enough weapons, he just did something no QB has done since Brady with less weapons than we've had in a game since Brady left.
It does make you wonder what would have happened if last year they just stuck with Zappe. Got him that experience and then built the offense around him during camp, not Jones. One of the few times Bill didn't stick with the player who was playing better. I do wonder if our owner had a hand in that, complete opposite of what he did with Bledsoe and Brady.
I can't wait to watch him actually play a game with most of our weapons against a very good Chiefs D. A game he can do well in and likely still not get a win.
Side not, Pickens is very talented, but still doing that crap he did in College. No way he could play for Bill, he doesn't even try on running plays. The antics in end zone when he didn't get the ball. It's amazing after Brown, that Tomlin still allows that crap to continue.
I'm certainly in favor of bringing back Henry and Brown, we also need another TE in draft that can be more explosive like Gesecki was suppose to be.
I only bring back Trent Brown on a fair deal, but I really don't want him back. Yeah it makes sense talent wise. I just hate watching him flip a switch when he's paid more, reports of always being late and him missing games. I guess the good news is those things likely keep his price down. He can play both OT spots. #1 focus has to be Onwenu though, McDermott once again showed he's a pretty good swing tackle who likely deserves a deal like Harris got.
Draft focus needs to be QB, WR/TE and OT. Defense could also use some upgrades on DL, without Judon that unit just isn't the same. Like where in the world did Uche go? I see him on field for plays, I haven't seen the guy from last year basically all season minus one game.
It's going to be one exciting offseason.

When you're to blame for a blocked punt, you don't last long.
Ty Montgomery cut.

Jets and Bears about to win.
If Buccaneers could pull out the win that would be the cherry on top.
It's too bad Carolina is just dreadful.

There is so much mediocre in the NFL this season. The Patriots are a quarterback and some weapons away from competing for the playoffs next season.

I always find it funny when a team’s complaint is the penalty was called, not that it wasn’t a penalty.

The Tuck rule the Raider fans bellyached about was my favorite.

I always find it funny when a team’s complaint is the penalty was called, not that it wasn’t a penalty. I'm also confident there was an illegal formation on that same exact play that wasn't called.

I’ve seen more of the things Mahomes said after the game. My god, what a baby. I hope he apologizes and retracts. He was turning into a Jeter type athlete for me, a guy I want to hate but can’t because he’s so good and respectable.

He has been a guy you want to hate because of the talent, but can't because of the talent. This to me damages his image. I hope he cools down and apologies as well, but he had that chance post-game and continued on. If I'm the refs the next game I just throw a flag on every ticky-tacky play.

Jeter treats women like objects and fired a long time scout while he was at the hospital for cancer surgery, ppl forget that

I know he dated a lot but not sure that qualifies for your claim and I’ve never heard the other thing

The Marlins fired a longtime scout who needs a kidney transplant, Yahoo Sports reported. They did so while he was lying in a hospital bed recovering from colon cancer surgery. Marty Scott was let go Oct. 16, just before his contract was set to expire at the end of the month. I google it because I didn't believe, but it was true. To put it all on Jeter alone is harsh more like organization move which is sad.

Anyways I don’t mean to derail the nfl thread with Jeter stuff, Mahomes looks like a baby which Jeter never really looked like in his career

Giants win, they drift away from us yet again And now the titans beat the dolphins to also drift away from us

Giants win, they drift away from us yet again And now the titans beat the dolphins to also drift away from us Unreal about as good as you can hope for after we pick up a win, Bears, Giants and Titans doing work. Top 3 gives you shot at the two QBs and Harrison Jr., nevermind Fields looking good. Chiefs acting like children, so they will give us 100%. Everything would be perfect if Bryce Young would just start acting like the #1 pick.

That's just modern day media, Williams would have to really messed up to fall out of top 5. Natural talent and production says he's one of the better QBs to come out in a while.

There are 10 teams with 5 wins or less. I think the Jets game is a guaranteed win for us so I pray to god we lose the other 4. Worried we pick up another win or 2 tho.
