The only question I have is when they move on from Bill, what happens to Steve? I really like this defense and think that should be left alone. I don't know if Steve or the team are going to want to continue on, but I would personally love that.
Good news for the next coach. He just needs 5 wins next year to be considered an improvement.

It could be worse, we could be the Jaguars. So that's the fear. Trevor Lawrence was someone you tank for. To me, if he didn't have that hype he'd be any middling QB. We need to be thankful Mac Jones turned into a complete dud. I'd rather pick a guy and have him be horrible than mediocre. Easier to make the switch. Lawrence is incredibly banged up right now, I still think he’ll be good long term I think we just locked up a top 3 pick?

It "only" took 2.5 years and no money to figure it out, and now we get to reset. Meanwhile, the Jags are on the verge of having to make a nine figure investment to stay in the middle.

I don't watch enough Jags games to know much better, but every year he seems to be rather pedestrian by the numbers and the W-L record. He might be top 15, but is that going to be good enough in this league? Especially now when they have to invest big into him?

Went to the game today… exciting You got to watch a fight, a complete debacle of a play call, a complete Jets being Jets moment only for Zappe to do something entirely magical which was throw 2 picks within 3 total plays.

I’m not up on the strength of schedule thing, does anyone know if it’s still possible to get the #2 pick if Washington loses?

This site isn't overly helpful: www.tankathon.com/nfl/tiebreaker_rootingBut it does say we should root for Bears over Packers and Denver over LV. Though, I think the Patriots have moved to 2 as of right now: www.tankathon.com/nfl/full_draftEdit: duh, Patriots would be 2nd because Commanders are playing now.

Looks pretty clear it'll be the 3rd pick. Incredibly annoying that the Patriots lost to the Commanders and they still get the tie breaker. It makes zero sense.

He's a great player, but wrong time for a player like that for this team. You the best player available. It may be MHJ, may be Olu or Joe Alt. The Patriots will get a player or make a trade that gets them more. This is by far the best opportunity they have had to add blue chip talent in a long long time. MHJ’s dad was a third year player before Peyton showed up. That worked out.

My ideal draft would be a trade down to pick 6 or so to grab bowers. I think he will be the best player in the class and he is so underrated right now.

The Bears are a real wild card at number 1 overall. They finished the year really strong, Fields looked a lot better and their defense turned into an elite unit. Their coach and GM got themselves off the hot seat, are they going to hit a reset on their offense and start over again? It’s a risky move, because if they draft the young QB and have a real struggle, they could lose their jobs before he gets a chance to take off. Or you can add the best WR prospect since Calvin Johnson to your team either by picking him first or trading back to 3 with the Patriots and picking up and additional pick or 2.

From now to the end of April, thousands of mock drafts, none of which will be accurate. The only thing that should happen is Pats take QB, OT, and WR in that order. IF Bill was drafting it'd be CB, DE, and OG in that order.

The Bears hold the keys to the draft and they are the Bears. Yeah Fields has upside left, he'll always have upside given his athletic traits. His numbers in year 3 aren't that good, 61% completion, 2,500 yards, 16 TD to 9 interceptions. If I was Bears I take Caleb Williams, you passed on QBs last year. Got Fields another Weapon, he was better, but by modern standards he has a long way to go. I'd take the QB, them cone back and take OT, WR or TE with their next pick.
That's the problem I see, the top 2 QBs should be gone, but with Bears and Commanders you never know. If that happens, that's where things get interesting. We don't even know who the GM making the picks will be. Nevermind our 2nd pick is also huge and you have to be thinking about trading up into the late first.
I really hate the next two dead months when you miss playoffs, till combine and free agency.

I can't believe we are back in the Black Monday blender. Insane.
Vrabel rumored to be interested if BB is gone. I'd be supportive, though not really sure what happened this season in Nashville.

The comments this morning from Bill don't seem to be those from a person who truly views himself as the where the buck stops. "I'm still under contract" ...."It's far too early for decision." The last thing the Patriots need is a protracted separation. On the one hand, yes, wait to see how Black Monday settles to see if there is a chance to move him via trade; but the idea that we would loose considerable time getting ready for the combine, etc. is a bit tough to swallow.

Zappe ended the year with worse numbers than Broken Mac across the board thanks to that game yesterday, wild. I’d still keep him around to backup.
Jayden Daniels may be the guy at 3 the more I think about it
