Kluber rehab pushed back because of travel issues. Reyes rehabbing though.

Do we still think his ETA is still late 2025?

Is Kyle Teel the new Joe Mauer? My column.

Is Kyle Teel the new Joe Mauer? My column. I remember going to a Sea Dogs game and was watching the other team (New Britain) warm up. I noticed the catcher throwing what seemed like missiles about 2 feet off the ground to the second base bag. I thought, wow, who is this. It was Joe Mauer. It would be nice if Kyle Teel was a Joe Mauer type player (only with a longer career).

The similarities are there: Bats lefty, former HS QBs, great arms behind the dish, tons of contact, low liners to LF...

I’m thinking he may force Nathan Hickey off of catcher Not sure Hickey is a viable catcher at the MLB level. I think Scott is a better alternative, although not sure how the D compares. And then you have Brannon & Johanfran coming up. Lots like in the catcher pipeline.

Wikelman with six straight strikeouts to start his outing. Nine swinging strikes.
Apparently it was Ryan Miller and the box score wasn't changed. Hoppe in after two innings.

I don't see a Mauer at all, maybe more Poseyish but, how I really think of it is Wong/Swihart heavy.
Another future thing to think about L/R batters in a Teel/Wong tandem. I'm hoping the Sox lock up Wong this off-season (I like him when he isn't overworked).

How much longer would you want them to lock him up for?

How much longer would you want them to lock him up for? In general, catcher careers start later than any other position. That said, 2 years extension would work for me but, not as options and without no-trade clauses, I want to see the Sox maximize the 2024 AAV, not defer it.
