Of course - we're in a playoff race here! With a win and a Mariners loss we pull to within 6.5 games of a wild card spot!

This is an especially tough one to be invested in anymore than background noise (not that this stops me).
Casas out for the season, youngsters not playing (Rafaela, Abreu), Yoshida still dribbling out in every at-bat.
I guess the Dalbec redemption tour will have to do!

But we need to keep playing Duvall so he can get hot

Eovaldi is afraid of Bobby Not afraid, but he gave him plenty of respect. Dalbec may be a AAAA player, but he is a dangerous AAAA player.

Speier and Millar talking about the finer points of organization-building is like Richard Feynman trying to explain physics to a donkey.

It turned out that he wasn’t very good. Lol completely insane overreaction Not at all. His numbers would be fine if he were just up from the minors. But they are paying $90m for this ground ball machine that can’t play defense. If someone were willing to take his contract off the books, I’d be fine letting him go for salary relief.

Millar opines on the Padres:
"Padres have 5 or 7 stars, and, with everybody l- There's stuff over there happening, we can't- you and I aren't in that clubhouse, why aren't they winning, there's stuff. But what if you can get a couple here and a couple there and, you're just filling each other's needs."

If someone were willing to take his contract off the books, I’d be fine letting him go for salary relief. By “numbers”, just to clarify, you mean the last month and a half in his first year in the majors. It’s a very cold stretch that can almost certainly be explained away by multiple contextual factors. If you think it’s a negative value contract and would prefer trading him that’s fair and I’d maybe even agree, but to say that this stretch is indicative of what he forever will be in the future and even was before that is, again, an overreaction. There was literally just talk about this today with Seiya Suzuki. Being this intentionally obtuse and acting like he’s a lock to be a bad hitter is crazy to me, but confirmation bias will get ya like that.

Hi folks - just got here - had to do a garden Zoom with a group in CT. Got here in time to see Tanner walk 8 and 9 hitter. Good grief.

Houck needs to spend the off-season doing endurance training, walking 8/9 is gross
