You posted it. Like I said when you did, I wouldn't be pointing that out like it's a good thing. You go on about advanced stats say it is, I asked what the advanced stats say the cutoff is and I got no response. Ok, that’s not what that quote said. I’ll repost it below but that quote is a reflection of last year and it says it’s not a recipe of success. I believe you’re misreading it. “We didn’t force turnovers, and we didn’t get offensive rebounds,” Mazzulla said, “so I recognized it the entire year. If you saw 80 percent of our box scores, we won the 3-point margin (by attempting more 3-pointers than the opponent), but we lost the shot margin. And we were able to make up for that because we were kind of a really skilled offensive team, and we usually won the free-throw margin because we didn’t foul on the defensive end. But that’s not a recipe for long term in the playoffs and on nights when it’s not going well.” He absolutely is looking at winning the 3 point margin as a good thing. Example last game, that doesn't happen in 80% of your games if the coach is telling you to shoot less 3 and take more two point shots. Focus on more two point shots than everyone around 3 point line and you'll get more offensive rebounds. Focus on that because that's your issue in playoffs and you need to work on it. This team has a lot of talent, they'll win games like last night in regular season, playoffs are a different story. 3 point shots come and go, you should never be taking over 50% of your shots from deep.

They're still going to be a team that shoots lots of threes. Hell, with Porzingis being able to shoot over most closeouts and Holiday being a better three-point shooter than Smart, they might shoot (and make) more threes on average than they did last year. That's not a bad thing if they can simultaneously tighten up other areas (such as forcing more turnovers or getting more offensive rebounds). As an aside: Holiday is Smart 3 point wise in playoffs for his career. You play this way and people aren't going to like the results when it matters. This is exactly the crap I was talking about when this trade was made.

I’m sorry I just showed you a quote where he talked about how they can’t live and die by the 3 and how they need to be better at that. They are going to be among the league leaders in 3 pointers taken, it’s about how they adjust to when those shots aren’t falling. If you can’t give them time to figure it out then you’re just going to be miserable. They didn’t have a great game (one game sample) but they figured out how to win. That should be the take away from the other night.

The Knicks gave them trouble last year and shot the lights out and the boys still figured out a way to pull it out on the road in a hostile building. They lose that game 10 times out of 10 last year imo. They started to unravel for a min or two but they held strong and kept it together enough for a tough win- last year I feel like they wouldn’t have regained composure. Or if they did it would be too little too late

Maybe they shoot so many 3’s because they can’t make layups

They fought their way back. Can't say the offense has any visible flow.

Really ragged play. Jaylen, Al, Jason out of whack.

Wow. Miami had Herro, Duncan Robinson, Jacquez, some guy named Smith, and Thomas Bryant on the court. And the Celtics turned the ball over three straight possessions.
That is unreal bad.

Jaylen is just going to be a roller coaster to endure. Great things, bonehead things, often seconds apart
I do like White and Holiday's games

Does Jaylen forget that he has teammates? Again - he does great - then does awful.

Too. Many. Turnovers - empty possessions. Tatum is not having a great game with the ball.
