Hello. For a couple months now --sporadically before but consistently now -- and only on this site, whenever I open a page an opaque "cover page" covering about 20% of the (lower) screen opens, with a DOWN feature on the left, that I have to manually hit to make it go away.
This is very annoying. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate this issue? I use Chrome on Windows 11 & do not ever have this issue elsewhere.

It sounds like you're describing the pop-up add but without the add. Mine is never 20%, but the add size doesn't adjust with the window, so if you're using a smaller window, that could explain the size.

Thank you for the reply. I do use ADblockPlus.
"It sounds like you're describing the pop-up add but without the add."
I don't understand what you mean.
"the add size doesn't adjust with the window, so if you're using a smaller window, that could explain the size ..."
I don't understand this either.
Maybe you could explain in a different way so my thickness might be pierced?
Note: I do increase page size to either 125% or 150% if this is related to your reply.

Here goes my first post. Yeah it sounds like the ad banner and your adblocker is preventing the normal "X to close window". Consider disabling your adblocker for just this site in your settings. You'll be able to close out of the ad quicker (and the opaque banner) plus you'll be supporting the site a bit.

Don’t blame the best website on the internet for a user error. 😂

So you' re saying the banner is inevitable, it will have an ad with my adblocker off & will be opaque with it on? But essentially, it comes with the site?

You're seeing the add banner, but not the add, because you have the add blocked - that's why it's a blank white banner (although half of it is semi-transparent for me - this also scales with the zoom and window size). Your increased page size is the reason it's so large. If you reduce the page size OR stretch your window so it's taller, it will become less offensive. I barely notice it at 100% page size with a window that uses ~80% of my 27" 1080 monitor. If you can get by at 110%, that may be the sweet spot. You can't completely close the add. If you hit the down arrow on the left side of it (just like the rest of us who see the add) it pops right back up when you load a new page. This is intentional to receive the greatest amount of visibility.

the link to games of the day lineup. Except all the other ones are not there either. Actually it is all the threads in the soxprospects forum. I can get to it clicking on the forum at the top of the page and go to the board page from there to the discussion page, but it is not in the original lineup of threads.

I've been seeing this issue too for the past week. At the home page, the section that displays the most recent forum posts is bugged and reads: "Oops! Something went wrong. It seems to be an invalid feed. Please check and try again." After clicking the "check and try again" diagnostic link it brings up a page that shows: "Sorry This feed does not validate. Server returned HTTP Error 406: Not Acceptable [help] line 1, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:1:0: no element found [help] Source: forum.soxprospects.com/rss/public/board/4" Hope that helps. The issue is present on chrome and safari, both mobile and desktop. I tried logging in and out of my account. The workaround is clicking the forum link at the top banner of the homepage, which is what congusgambler33 was describing, I believe.

I got this error once the other day when I tried to write a reply. Took a screenshot, but it's hard (not possible?) to post a screenshot on pro-boards apparently.

On the full reply page when you are creating your post, you can go to "Add Attachment" (top right) and you can use that to show a picture. Hard and painful? Yes!

WAIT, I see it now, below that on the screenshot, right? Yes below your circle in the screenshot where it says "Oops! Something went wrong." I've had the same issue for a few weeks now as well on multiple different PCs

This appears to be a ProBoards issue. I put in a ticket but they are not being helpful. I'm going to take down that feature for the time being until we can resolve.

You can't do it using Quick Reply at the bottom of the page. You need to click "Reply" there and then it's in the top right.
Also you need to be on desktop. The mobile version doesn't have it (that I've found).

I still can get to the forums on the top of the page, but it is extra clicks to get there and that is a workout..Whew I am sweating now.

Am I the only one who just keeps a tab open/bookmarks the Forum so when I start typing "forum..." in the url bar or populates?

Am I the only one who just keeps a tab open/bookmarks the Forum so when I start typing "forum..." in the url bar or populates? Four key strokes. F-O-R-Enter. That’s all I need for the pre-fill to work.
