Mortensen with the game tied again!? Tazawa only threw 1 pitch yesterday!

I can't wait to see which "closer" BC trades for next. Maybe we can John Axford for Webster and Bogaerts.

Why is Clayton Mortensen the pitcher that is brought into this game? Poorly produced.

OK, I'm off the Farrell bandwagon.
Mortensen shouldn't even be on this roster, let alone coming into this game.
edit: Is there any doubt this is another loss coming?

Mortensen with the game tied again!? Tazawa only threw 1 pitch yesterday! He is on pace to pitch in over games. I think Farrell needs to avoid Dusty Baker-esque pitcher abuse.

Mortensen with the game tied again!? Tazawa only threw 1 pitch yesterday! You know, it's really a great use of team resources when your pitchers expend more energy warming up for games than actually pitching in them.

Ok. Who gave Middlebrooks a green light?

Tazawa should be the closer while Bailey is out. Hanrahan is... I can't say it here.

I'd love to see Mort get a well deserved 1 pitch win.

Wow WMB is in trouble here. Missed 3 straight fastballs in the zone after being up 3-0... not a good look for him.

Will Middlebrooks getting the leadoff 3-0 greenlight while hitting .190 is absurd.

Will Middlebrooks getting the leadoff 3-0 greenlight while hitting .190 is absurd. Lets be realistic though. We all knew he was going to strikeout regardless of the green light.

Pathetic at-bats by Middlebrooks and Ellsbury.
Thank god there's some playoff basketball on. We all know this one's ending with an L.

If the Red Sox had anything in the minors at 3b, they could at least send Middlebrooks down for a while. The worst part is that I don't think he gets it all.

Middlebrooks is overmatched for sure. Replacement level player would help more this team win than Middlebrooks.

I said it in earlier posts, that I was concerned about Middlebrooks coming into the year.. he had a lot of real bad at bats in spring training.. he is lost right now and make that Bogaerts, Iglesias, Middlebrooks debate look silly right now.

This is shaping up to be another brutal and needless loss. First of all, Hanrahan is beyond awful. He either gives up walks, gives up homers, or gets injured, or all above the above at the same time.
I hated the Ortiz pinch running move because it give you no leeway whatsoever if Hanrahan blows the lead and the game goes extra innings, not that could ever happen. And why was Ciriaco trying to steal 3rd with two outs? That's a Psycho Steve Lyons move and that got him traded to Chicago for Tom Seaver.
And the bullpen is looking terrible. I really wish the Sox had Melancon back. He was awful last year, but then again, his BB/K ratio was good and most of his trouble was in the first few games of last season. He could have helped. Losing Atchison also hurt them a little bit, too.
Now who gets called up? Do we see Daniel Bard back? Please, no. Does De La Torre get an opportunity? They already have too many wild guys like Chris Carpenter. Don't want to see him either.
I guess Uehara becomes the closer. Hope they use Tazawa and Uehara better. Yesterday Tazawa was totally wasted and the Sox got stuck with Mortensen in crunch time just like today.
Meanwhile, I'm so sick of watching Salty and WMB strike out all the time.

Dempster, tomorrow's starter is heading to bullpen. With Dempster heading to the pen, I am going to assume they already know that Hanrahan is heading to the DL. Since if Dempster pitches, a roster move will need to be made to call up a starter. That roster move would be Hanrahan. I believe Aceves would be able to start tomorrow on regular rest.
