There's a problem with the link to "Today's Affiliate Gameday Scoreboard." The problem was there yesterday too. It just gives you another copy of this page.

Although the last two Sox games have brought consternation, a Worcester win today will whisper "serenity now".

Forget Hamilton, Romy Gonzalez (second base) is off to the hottest season start. I wonder how his glove is.

Forget Hamilton, Romy Gonzalez (second base) is off to the hottest season start. I wonder how his glove is. He's a super-utility guy who has played every position except 1B and C in 86 big league games (over 3 seasons with the White Sox). He's listed at 6'0", so there's no obvious reason why he couldn't try 1B. If they start working him out there in Worcester, that will be a telltale sign that Bobby's days are numbered.

[…]. I do believe halfway through camp he started using the big part of the field. He did yesterday. He hit two homers: one opposite field, one to center field. He hit the one (against) Minnesota (in spring training) to straight center. “He’s a good athlete,” Cora added. “He’s a big kid that can play good defense wherever we put him. He’s going to play first base a little bit down there, too. […] Gonzalez started at first base Friday and shortstop Saturday. www.masslive.com/redsox/2024/03/big-kid-on-red-sox-40-man-hit-2-hr-in-woosox-opener-has-alex-coras-eye.html

And if they start getting Hamilton reps in the OF, you'll know they're thinking of optioning Abreu... My early hot take is that he looks so bad, and it'll be hard for him to get right without regular PT... and we would still like to have another LHH OF if possible. (And I was one of the guys in the off-season saying he deserved an opening day roster spot, so (a) it's not that I just don't like him and (b) it IS just that I pay too much attention to SSS.

Much more likely to call up Contreras if they need a lefty capable of playing OF. Great defender. He can mash a little too. At least so long as Refsnyder is hurt.
