Now what will distract me from this paper?
Honestly, day/morning minor league ball is one of my favorite things about the spring/summer.

Take a "Leadership and Team Management" class in which you have to write your final paper about a situation in which you have to analyze failures in leadership. Hellooooooooooo 2012 Red Sox.

No need to fret, Greenville is underway, freeing us all to get back to more passive forms of procrastination.
Glad to see Jason Garcia getting the start in the nightcap there. He's been pretty solid so far as a piggyback starter. I was very impressed when I saw him in Lowell in '11 but he obviously struggled terribly last year. Hard to believe he's still only 20.

Salem postponed.
Agree on Garcia. He was a young draftee and if I recall newer to pitching than many HS pitchers that are drafted. I still think he has a ton of potential.

2 innings of no-hit 3 strikeout ball for Kukuk, although he escaped 3 BB's in the 2nd inning.
ADD: AND . . . 4 BB's in the 3rd. 4 runs on only 1 hit. Kukuk cannot find the strike zone today. But he still appears hard to hit.

I'm going to go ahead and pretend that he's actually hitting the zone, his curve is just so nasty the ump can't tell where it cross. Yep, sounds good.

There might be some truth to that. Not sure. But 7 BB's in 2nd and 3rd - he had to have poor control today.
Maybe the morning start messed him up.

Wet weather could also have played a small part. 11 walks between the two teams after 5 and a half.

Apparently one of Kukuk's third inning walks was changed to a base hit. I'm guessing it was just mis-entered by the milb.com scorer.

Wacky fact: Mookie Betts has as more walks in his last ten games as Will Middlebrooks has had in his entire major league career.

Let me know when either of them breaks the .200 BA mark.

Betts is 2nd in all of the minors with 29 walks (in 26 games). Nolan Fontana has 30 in 31 games in the Cal League.

Mookie Betts' line just completely baffles me. I really have no clue what to think.

Let me know when either of them breaks the .200 BA mark. .176 BABIP for Betts. He'll turn it around, watch. Doesn't help that the Drive lineup doesn't turn over very often.

Good call Nosty(Nostradamus). Mookie goes yard in Game 1 1/2 with the obligatory 2 walks. Leads off the 2nd game with a double. Stranded of course.

Henry placed on TIA, Natoli added from Salem. Salem is now two players short. Marrero should be one of the adds.

Today, 2 for 5 with a 2B, HR, and 2 BB.
