It's going to be so disappointing when he makes it to the majors and his nickname is just Wikky.

I've been yearning for an in-person report of Sandlin man...the offseason tidbits were so tasty...I languish

Not sure if this belongs here but read an interesting article on the Athletic (https://theathletic.com/5408834/2024/04/15/minor-league-baseball-team-ownership-diamond-baseball-holdings/) about the private equity firm Diamond Baseball Holdings which sprung up 3 years ago and now owns 32 of the 120 minor league affiliates. They own all Braves affiliates, 3/4 Red Sox "and one or two from roughly two-thirds of all major league clubs". The article talks positively about the PE but I feel like whenever my favorite brewery was bought out by a PE the product sucked and they cut costs.
They bought Salem and Worcester in 2023 and Portland in2022.

Looks like Fraymi De Leon is up with Salem. Countermove appears to be Angel Pierre being released.

He just can’t throw strikes to the point where it’s hard to get excited about him at all anymore

Bleis with a bases clearing double then steals third and scores on an error.

This isn't a post bashing Wikky, but Sandlin could definitely establish himself as the top pitcher in the system.

Last year, Gonzalez allowed 16 runs in 8 2/3 innings in four April starts, walking 16. Which is to say, he's started very slowly before and it is hardly a reason to write him off.

On one hand this is fair but on the other at what point does it constitute a trend that actually affects his major league outlook? It’s easy to write off when it’s in AA but would anyone be accepting of “oh he’s just a slow starter” if he was doing this in Boston? That’s almost certainly an overreaction and I’m not out on him as a prospect or even a starter at this point but I do think it’s a genuine point of concern.
