It's always exciting for the uninformed fans when a new guy takes the field ... "where'd they get this guy from?"
But sad when players go away. I weep anticipatory tears for Dalbec.

I believe he's the only major leaguer ever out of Sacred Heart. Jason Foley for the Tigers is another. They had them on the roster at the same time too- somebody give that recruiter a bonus

At least they are doing something. They are not sticking with Kiki for months after it was apparent he couldn't handle being an everyday shortstop in the bigs. Casis gets hurt and they bring in a replacement. No way they can be responsible for the replacement getting hurt too. Reyes and Hamilton aren't cutting it at short after Story gets hurt, and Rafaela gets a shot. Now this guy gets a shot to be his backup. It may not work, but at least they are trying something to fix obvious problems. Assume Hamilton will go down when the new guy arrives. This. Though I'd add CB2 quickly takes away Alex (Doc Rivers) Cora's player crushes when they don't perform on the field - which does the team and the coach a good service (see Pablo, Joly). I would not assume that you know who Cora's player crushes are. I will just say that I believe these assumptions are very wrong and leave it at that.

It's just as simple to conjecture that the team needs players with certain skills, that they give the players they have a chance to show what they can do in those roles, and that they move on if they're not getting what they need from them. And that's all it is, a conjecture.

If that is indeed the case, then putting players in positions too NOT succeed is a headscratcher from multiple angles - process-wise and of course results-wise. Are either of you aware of why Duran was kept in CF (another seemingly headscratching move) to the detriment of his mental health in 2022?

So he could learn and experience and to be motivated to be a real CF and grow up to become the kickass player he is today.

Wonder if the Red Sox will owe short term capital gains tax on Short.
No pun intended
