Mata getting three innings tells me they are prepping him for that Chase Anderson role. I think they're on record of saying they'll build him up to take a starter load and then they can "cut him short" if they need to (Cora quote). I could see him getting the Anderson role, but also being a starter if there's an injury, or even DFA'd or traded if they don't feel he's an upgrade over their current roster. |

Mayer has gotten most of the attention, but Teel has a higher OBP and is close in OPS. He has been impressive also. Anthony is so young not worried about him at all, expect things to click for him soon.

Franklin Arias 11 walks in 51 PA. Taking lots of walks against pitchers that can't throw strikes isn't the most impressive skill, but it's something. Looks like he was 24th out of 85 in the league by walk rate before today. (There are 5 Red Sox batters on that list and they're all in the top 27.)
Andrew Musett's stat line is pretty nifty.
