I'm in northern Berkshire county, to get to Boston I take route 9 to I 91 to I 90. I could also take route 2, but that's a horrible road over the mountains and isn't even great closer to Boston. I'll have to look into the trains, being from Northern Berkshire county I have no clue. Have always just driven into Boston my whole life even with my parents, yet have taken a train into New York City many times. I was Concord/UMass so I'd take Rt 2 all the time, gotta watch out for the speed traps in Gardner and my town has all the stoplights others hate but the road always seemed fine to me East of 91 or at least 202. I don't know just how bad it is these days but definitely not worthy of being called a major highway out by Williamstown I'll give you that Rt 2 would give you that Wachusett rail option like the Haverhill line from the north, it's a 90 minute train ride and doing all this in the same day for a Celtics game sounds tiring but so does driving that far if I'm honest. If it's a weeknight game and you hit the 4:30 train going in at least you avoid all that rush hour traffic and you can relax or do work on the ride, don't know your situation so not trying to push any option, but I think mass transit's a real one and probably an underutilized one in their current location while the special ones to/from Gillette for games are pretty useless. Can't believe opening night's already here, perfect timing for some good Boston sports with the Patriots struggling with the media spotlight and the Yankees in the World Series. Send the media to Joe, he can handle them no problem!

You should just take Rt 9 the whole way Adds an extra hour to my trip and that's not accounting for the extra traffic driving through Worcester down into Boston on that road. Which if you hit it wrong is absolutely crazy, remember I live in a small town with no stop lights for a reason lol. I was just kidding that drive would be a nightmare
