Excited to listen to Penrod's WooSox debut tonight. Would love to see him force his way into a late-season cup of coffee.

Roman Anthony out of the lineup once again. This is starting to get worrisome. Hopefully just precautionary stuff but the way their injury luck has been so far this year who knows.

Penrod labored through his first AAA inning, but was up to 97 and struck out top prospect Colson Montgomery.

Nelly Taylor with his second HR of the year, his first coming on Tuesday. Pretty sure he'd lead that team in WAR if such a thing existed with statcast defensive metrics and everything.

Mayer has 12 doubles this month. For comparison's sake, Nelly Taylor and Jamie Westbrook are tied for second in the organization with 13 doubles on the season.

Generally unimportant official scoring question: does anyone know why Hoppe got the loss in the Portland game rather than Bastardo? I know the go-ahead run was inherited, but that's not usually the standard.

Ah, perfect. My math was off and I hadn't put together that Portland tied the game back up.

Kristian Campbell on base streaks up to 33. 2 away from Mookie's record This is why baseball is amazing and also potentially very cruel. Baseball makes it so easy to weave the past with the present. But it is incredibly unfair to Campbell to compare him to Mookie. But it is coming like a freight train and none of us can do anything to stop it.

Hmm, wonder what kind of strikeout rates Mookie had in the minors. Let's see...
A: 11.8% A+: 8.1% AA: 7.9%
Good lord.

100% and that's why it would be completely unfair to compare the two players.
