They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Too bad they can't shuffle the rotation to have Houck v. Olsen in a battle of hard luck starters.

Hopefully this is the start of a stretch of winning baseball. 8 of the next 10 are against the Tigers and White Sox.

I can see this series ending in a split. Then 3 wins against the White Sox. I wish this team would either rip off 20 wins in a row or just have the floor fall out under them. I can't take this .500 record, but only 2.5 out baseball any more. If this was a 2 Wild Card system the season would be effectively over already. Well, maybe not quite. Didn't realize KC and Baltimore were only 6 and 8 ahead respectively. Feels like more.

Not ready to stop asking for sweeps against Detroit yet.

If the team ripped off 20 wins in a row would they really make the moves they need to make to be a legitimate contender from ‘26 - ‘34? If the floor fell out would we see fight and desire to win from guys like Duran, Wong, Houck and Kutter who have shown they are 100% pieces of a championship level squad? The development we’ve seen throughout the system this year has been fantastic and while there have been (extended) moments of pain, I can see the future and I need shades!

As an old (not as old as some of you) fan, it breaks my heart to see how AVERAGE the Sox' fan base has become. Pedey got entered into the Sox HOF today, and the stadium was half empty. Truly a guy that embodied everything we want our players to be. Trot too, to a lesser extent.
The price of success is that you price out the good parts of your fan base...
I'd have gone, but the 2400 mile commute was a little much.

Literally looking forward to someone literally getting Pap literally out of the booth. Dude is WAY to old to literally use that word so much.

After a shaky start, Pivetta is BRINGING THE FILTH. It appears I may be the only one watching.

My 2 cents.....not winning enough. People love winners. (if I was cruel to be kind, i might mention strict number orthodoxy, but i am too nice of a person). ha.

I think this off-season is going to be very telling. The ownership needs to spend money. I think this team is close enough now to make big moves and there's 2 guys on the market that can make a huge impact. If not, then the Red Sox are likely taking the approach of only develop and extend. It's not a terrible one, but I can foresee a few more seasons of this if that's the approach.

Pedey seems like a hugely good influence on that pile of kids. I hope when his are grown, we see him back in town.

of course, tie a team record for consecutive K's, give up the bomb, we are down 1-0.

My fault. I turned on the game and Pivetta immediately gave up his first hit. I will go back to not watching.
