"Rooker, Schuemann hit 3-run homers in Athletics' 19-8 rout of Orioles" Not to mention it was 17-1 after six innings.

I would rather lose a game by 10 runs than lose it like the MFY’s did it on Friday. That one hit their soul. People often say such a thing, but the damage to their soul was so bad that less than 24 hrs later they beat the snot out of the team that just damaged their soul? Does that really make sense? Wait a minute, was that just a subtle insult that the Yankees have no soul to hit? That would make more sense. Fact check: the concept of the 'soul' is the contingent product of various currents in medieval and classical thought and is not grounded in ontological reality.

Criswell pitch well again. He needs to be back with the big club in a long man arm. Anderson stats are putrid and it caught up to him. High HR and very low K, not someone you want around in the bullpen.

Serviceable would be my take. Don't see us trading Jansen at this point but might help us long term.

Dom Smith's biggest blunder was unintentionally injuring a washed up Rizzo. Ben Rice had great under the hood numbers even before yesterday's big game, and now ZiPS projects him for a 120-ish wRC+ the rest of the way.

Don't see us trading Jansen at this point but might help us long term. With Martin out again, we need another reliable higher leverage arm in the pen. I trust either of Criswell or Wink. As far as trading Jansen, I am of the mind that the window has opened and one way to close it real quick is to trade 2024 wins for possible future wins. Jansen has been money this year. Need to keep him.

Ah, so the Yankees have their annual ridiculous overperformer in place to save their bacon once again. What's his deal? He has great minor league numbers, but at a fairly advanced age for each level and gets only a 35+ FV from fangraphs.
I assume he'll keep up the 170 wRC+, get traded in the offseason for the next Clay Holmes or Luis Gil, and never be heard from again.

Congrats to Yankees fans for finding a hitter who can hit 2 home runs off Chase Anderson. It’s terrifying

Luis Gil 4/01-6/14: 14 GS, 2.03 ERA, 3.08 FIP, 3.80 xERA
Luis Gil 6/20-7/2: 3 GS, 14.90 ERA, 10.31 FIP, 8.23 xFIP
That's a pitcher who's not just regressing; the wheels have fallen off in three straight starts.
Here's something from the fangraphs prospect report: He only pitched 25 innings in 2022 and 4 innings in 2023. Wonder if he's tiring. Wonder if it's related that his BB rate, which was already high even when he was going good, has soared in his last four starts.

it is gonna be hard to listen to the inevitable fellatio performed by Ravitch and crew on the MFY tonight, but I will watch this win happen, nonetheless.

Wyler moved down the lineup. Hope he can relax and drive over the Little League right field in the Toilet.

Kutter better get the same strike zone. Great at bat by Hamilton, crap that it ended on that call, but if it is there for both teams, it is what it is.
