Why is this asshole still pitching? It’s the 24 version of the Barraclough game

Why is this asshole still pitching? Don't want to turn one loss into two, me thinks. Guessing Cora runs him out for the 5th also, to conserve the pen.

Why is this asshole still pitching? Woooooo. Criswell is a great dude. Its not his fault he isnt very good. Hes doing his best and for the year its been acceptable. Problem is we need better if going to stay in this playoff / division race. Please get us a starter ASAP.

Hurting right now.
Can't help but think we still struggle against good teams, and this is indicative of those struggles.
Criswell had a nice run early in the year, but he should not be starting at this point or anywhere near a ML mound, matter of fact.
I am gonna give the FO some leeway till now, but I expect some deals at the deadline to make this team stronger.

Civale went to the Rays pitching lab and was terrible. There is no hope for him being a good pitcher. Kinda missed the point....I wasn't suggesting that the Sox should/could have gotten Civale but that teams don't always wait till the last minute.

What is with the aggressive Criswell animosity, even after tonight he still has a perfectly acceptable back end starter line. He’s been pretty good in general

Yeah this game is done and dusted. It’s a shame.

He’s been pretty good in general Criswell pitches like the #6 starter he is. Pretty consistently. I'm not sure "pretty good" is accurate, but he isn't deserving of the abuse.

Funky lineup: Refsnyder RF Duran LF O’Neill DH Devers 3B Wong C Gonzalez 1B Westbrook 2B Rafaela CF Hamilton SS In addition to facing a lefty in Ragans tonight, the Royals have 4 lefties to go with 4 righties in their bullpen. Very interesting. And Criswell making his first start in a while tonight. Gonna need some solid performances from guys that havent been in the mix so much recently. Feeling confident and excited, no matter. jinx

Don’t look now, but with 5ip/2er, Criswell has now *lowered* his ERA on the year.

Yeah, it was stressful/not pretty, but if 5IP/2ER is what you get from your up/down starters, should be grateful.
That said, we sure do need at least a #4 starter at the deadline...

His ERA is 3% better than league average his FIP is 11% better than league average his xFIP is 10% better than league average and his xERA is 14% better than league average. Pretty good in my book

What is with the aggressive Criswell animosity, even after tonight he still has a perfectly acceptable back end starter line. He’s been pretty good in general i don't look at it as animous. He started to fade a bit before he went down and he is getting pretty roughed up tonight. It is just 1 game, I agree, but he seems replaceable with better talent, generally speaking.

Pretty good in my book I agree with you, except for the fact that he usually only goes four. Bullpen smashers aren't good. Again, I think he is fine for what he is.

Judging by the mood in the forum today, you’d swear this team was below 500. Y’all realize this is the 2024 Friday Red Sox, right?

Criswell 2 ER in 6. Big issue this game is our dead bats.

Criswell 2 ER in 6. Big issue this game is our dead bats. And our league worst defense leading to unearned runs

Criswell gave them 6 innings in a game they're supposed to lose considering the pitching matchup. That's not bad.
