Anderson Fermin and Justin Gonzales will be playing in the DSL All-Star Game today as well.
Edit: Gonzales starting at 1B. Fermin coming off the bench.

Not a great 2nd inning for Portland. Throwing error on Teel and a lost in the sun rbi single. Dobbins not being helped defensively early on.

Gonzales 1 for 2 with an RBI
Fermin (so far) 0 for 2. He's listed as playing SS, but I note that the guy who pinch hit for the starting CF and is listed as playing out there is an infielder, so I'm guessing the box is just wrong and the person working the live stats just assumed all the pinch hitters stayed at the positions of those they replaced when they did not.

Interesting Portland lineup with Campbell in center and Anthony in left.

Interesting Portland lineup with Campbell in center and Anthony in left. Anthony was in left yesterday too (Sikes in CF) as well as the game before they left for Texas (Campbell in that one), so it seems they are getting him used to other angles in the outfield. I guess having him learn on the Maine Monster before going up to the more conventional Polar Park OF makes sense?

If the eventual plan winds up being Anthony in LF, Rafaela in CF, and Montgomery in RF, it makes a ton of sense.

For what it's worth, I can pretty much guarantee that neither Rafaela nor, especially, Montgomery has anything to do with their current development plan for Anthony. Reports this year, including from Ian, have been that he looks more corner outfield-ish this year. In that sense, starting to expose him more to the corners makes sense.

Fitts 4IP 6H 4R 3BB 1K 2HR
I do not have a lot of optimism regarding this player

And there's also the emerging issue of Campbell, and where he plays longer-term.
Have there been any definitive reports/opinions on his 2B defense? Could it possibly be that the organization sees his future in the OF rather than the infield?

Fitts 4IP 6H 4R 3BB 1K 2HR I do not have a lot of optimism regarding this player I wonder if his stuff would play up in relief not that I’m typically in a rush to move guys to the pen. I see Fitts as a fringy starter and a good young reliever would still be a big win for the org.

Hmmm, Romero is currently 3/3 with a double and a HR. He had a HR yesterday too.

Fitts has not looked good his last few starts. Leaving balls over the plate and getting punished for it. 10.13 ERA in July and a 400 BAA

Campbell should play 2b for the rest of the year. Once Ceddanne moves to CF and Marcelo takes over SS. That’s probably his easies way to the Sox.

Spent yesterday at the Worcester/Lehigh Valley game - had hoped to catch Nick Yorke, but alas - some very uninformed observations:
Fitts gave up some hard hit balls, as the box score shows
Wingenter gave up some hard hit liners to center, but they were all readily tracked down - and he threw strikes
Kavadas hit a foul ball into the Woosox dugout that would have done some damage had it hit anyone (I was right behind the dugout) - seemed about the hardest hit ball of the day - he is what he is advertised as being - good eye, hard contact - but did not make enough
Sogard had a couple nice hits
Grissom was quiet
Valdez looks like a hitter - but walked/struck out (Phillies pitchers walked 9) -
Lugo at least one hard hit ball that was tracked down in the gap
For the Phils, Marchan had a nice game (and he just came off a nice run playing for the Phils) - De la Cruz hit a deep homer, hit another ball hard and looks like his legs are about five feet long.
Nice place to catch a game, though first time I'd been there in 5+ years (it is about as close to home as the Phillies park) - was just - darn steamy/hot.
