I'm lukewarm on both Sims and Garcia as I dont think I'd trust either with 8th inning high leverage but they're marginally better middle relief options than what they have. Beats seeing them than the waiver wire pickup types to fill out the pen. They better get Martin and Slaten back healthy and effective or the pen will still be problematic. Also hope Hendrik can somehow show them something too. I think the season still hinges on Martin, Slaten, and Casas returning as good as new. Garcia has been their setup guy, so he adds to the Martin/Slaten layer and I would expect him in the 8th until either gets back. The Angels didnt exactly have a lot of better options for setup duty

Could this be the long-prophesized Bobby D trade?

edit: If Hunter Noll is credible it's three AAA guys. Clearing space for the promotions we all want.

AAA guys to me implies guys with no MLB experience so no Bobby or Valdez. I could be wrong.

Penrod is the only one that would be painful

Woosox have three or four guys who throw 99-100 (or did before they called one up to Fenway). I’m guessing one of them goes.

Well then, this trade is great! We went from having to give up three players to only having to send them a couple of bats! Not going to ask where they got the arm from, though...

Keep Fitts, Penrod, and Meidroth and I’m not broken up about anyone else going. Lugo, Sogard, Guerrero, and Zeferjahn are the next tier that I’m assuming at least one if not two are coming from. As long as it’s not three, I’m ok.

Taking another look and hes been a bit better than I thought he was. At least he throws strikes.
He had a couple of good seasons for the Phillies a long time ago. Looks like hes been mostly an anonymous middle man. Nothing dominating about him, but hes pitched reasonably well for a pretty long time so I'll see him as a welcome addition. Certainly beats watching Weissert.

Is it crazy to think Mickey Gasper could be a guy the angels want?

Notable that none of the typical national names have commented on this one yet. Five trades have come in since this one, mostly trickling in after 6pm. So just a Heyman tweet, and Hunter Moll’s addition here. Is it possible there is more to this deal?

Hard to put that type of onus on Hendriks who has been gone so long.

Is it crazy to think Mickey Gasper could be a guy the angels want? I mean, that would give them two Mickeys which seems very fitting w/ Disneyland down the street
