Since July 14, Yordanny has gone 29 innings without giving up and earned run - 34K's to 5BB's. This July 14th start was after pitching on the 2nd and then the scheduled skip. Seems like they may have found an adjustment during his side sessions to help him take it to another level. Very consistent since then.
Let's hope I didn't jinx him.

So the 7 homeruns he's surrendered came in his first 22 innings. I remember watching a few videos last year that featured all his strikeouts for a given game thinking he was lucky, that many of those pitches should be getting killed. Lots of fastballs and curves that hitters were just swinging through that were center cut and thigh to belt. I have no idea what adjustments were made but I imagine command and location were going to need to improve...while that's true of 80% of pitchers at that level it seemed like he was walking a finer line than most.

Have to think command and control are part or maybe all of that. Maybe some pitch mix adjustments? In any event, I like that it hasn't been 2 good starts and then a stinker, two good ones and then a stinker. He's been reallly consistent since July 14th. Very nice to see.

I will be there Friday through Sunday and am still working on accepting that barring a warp in the time-space continuum I will miss Blake Wehunt. Edit: also, based on last year, if they're going to give Mikey Romero a taste of AA this year, I predict it will be immediately after I get photos of him in Greenville. Watch for news next weekend!

Nope. You're getting Uberstine followed by Mullins, Rogers, and Elmer those 3 days.

You say that as though cold hard facts automatically lead to emotional acceptance.
On the plus side, both Uberstine and Mullins should graduate from "player I have only photographed in a T-shirt" status.

Max Ferguson is getting activated in Portland. Injured his ankle making a catch at the wall in mid-April.
Of note, the DRL is at 161. Uberstine plus Ferguson, plus Sogard and Horn reporting will fill it. Worth keeping in mind with Worcester only having 1 roster spot open and 3 guys incoming, adding K.Campbell.

Wasn't the delayed start to his season due to shoulder issues? Maybe he was building up strength earlier in the season?

The team held him back because they weren't happy with the strength in his shoulder. Not really an injury situation.

Red Sox Red won their game, Giants Black have a 7-6 lead in the 6th. So Giants Black won 16-7, immediately after you commented they got 9 runs in the bottom of the 6th.

Busy roster day. In addition to Campbell/Mayer/Ferguson:
Sena, Bonnin, and Carlson promoted. Uwasawa and Kwiatkowski to the dev list.
DRL at 164 with Uberstine set to take the last spot on Friday.

Like to ask something, don't have to post any reply, just something was asked only when took tons of digital photographs when went to Ft myers of players over the years from the young kids and never, ever before like 2010, or 11 perhaps. Few guys.. like 3-4 over the years wife and i would make the kind of short trip to stay a wk-2 at Ft Myers to catch some GCL action, some guys would ask who I worked for and how much they (if anything) they were getting for the picture. Figured was mostly low to no pay at the level driving most of it and could count on 1 hand number of ppl saw during GCL seasons taking individual payer pics all the years we went anyway.

The bad news is no Mayer. The good news is his replacement Soxprospects.com #5 prospect Kristian Campbell..

Certainly didn't have Campbell suiting up at SS in AAA before Mayer on my bingo card. Hope Mayer can get healthy and get some ABs before the end of the season.

K-Camp with an RBI single up the middle in his first AAA at-bat. Good for you, kid.

Nice no-doubt home run for Anthony. 108 mph off the bat, 415' to right center.

Yes, I have taken a lot of the photos used in profiles and in the news stories here. I'm not quite clear on the question--do you mean players were asking if they would get paid for photos you were taking? My simple answer to that would be that I don't sell prints, and so I don't pay for licensing (which would go through a lot of hands before the player saw anything--if he even did--anyway). I sign waivers for credentials above the FCL indicating this, and confirming that I understand MLB's and the team's rights, but they don't really issue credentials at the FCL level. The photos I take essentially fall under the umbrella of news coverage*. There are photographers who go through the licensing process with MLB/MiLB in order to sell images, mainly for cards, but I'm not sure that trickles down to the level of an individual player. The team/MLB obviously owns the branding, which is why you sometimes see recognizable MLB players in ads that carefully avoid using the team name or a team logo. In the modern era what happens when I shoot the FCL is I get a lot of messages from players through Instagram asking for images, which I am happy to supply. * You will sometimes see the consequences of this kind of credential when the Boston Globe can sell you a reproduction of a newspaper page where one of their photographers' photos appeared, but they can't sell you a print of the specific photo.

Yordanny Monegro and Hunter Dobbins both seem overdue for promotions.
