The line in any obvious passing situation is just so uncompetitive that they might as well just kneel it.

This team and line are so bad We knew they would be ass, but the defense being this ridiculous makes me ponder things. Vrabel was RIGHT THERE! Losing Bentley on top of Barmore is awful. Run defense gets crushed and so does the pass rush. Bentley is a very good blitzer. Long term I’m not worried about the D… we do need corner depth, but pieces are there just injured. The line needs an overhaul. Even Onwenu is a Turn style right now. |

My worry, they talked about this before hand and did this because 10 days till next game.
Yes Maye likely gives you a better chance of winning, it's not worth the risk right now! He's very young, 49ers coming up and OL is a mess.
If Mayo is starting to worry about wins in game 3, to the point of risking Maye he needs to be fired.
Van Pelts offense was much better tonight, but damage is now done. A non blitzing team just blitzed like crazy given the tape.
I want answer about things I'm seeing, Onwenu letting a rusher go free right off the edge to double team a guy. The crap with Hunter and Robinson last game, with Lowe doing same thing on left side. Going 5 wide with 8 guys in the box. Nevermind RB not blocking, 2nd half till they run a somewhat screen with a TE.
Do whatever crazy crap you want running the ball, it's almost criminal with a young OL struggling with pass blocking to be doing crazy crap when passing.
Mayo want a spark start Joe Milton, add some wildcat and just have him throwing bombs. He can run around and pass, make some nice runs. Huge guy, can likely take some hits. Won't likely help you win, likely a bunch of turnovers, but also some wow plays. Could make for a more enjoyable game and not destroy Maye.

The good news - Celtics are just around the corner. This is going to be a very long, sad Patriots season. I can't wait to shift to a team that is set up for success.

Just because you keep saying it doesn’t make it any more true. They got him reps in garbage time and I’m sure they’re going to continue to do that. If they didn’t have a plan for him he’d be starting week 1. As an aside can I call the line trash yet without getting any pushback? |
