last night 0-6 on the power play and no offensive chemistry with the current Bruins players. They are running all over the zone. Starting to look toward senior management and their lack of "offensive firepower" this team desperately needed/needs.

I keep hearing they've built a team that's too big and too show. Inherently non- competitive

I mean the first line is eh, but the problem is if your first line is just "eh," you have a huge problem. Second line again looks to have found something which you love to see. The fourth line was the fourth line even if they haven't been as crazy as they were to start the year, but you shouldn't expect that kind of production to continue. Defense looked awful last night, and we also just kept taking penalties. Swayman's been okay, but we need him to be playing at the top of his game if this team is going to be competitive and he just isn't right now... I don't know if this team is bad, but we might be a fringe playoff team this year rather than the for-sure playoff lock we have been.

They woke up! Monty safe (for awhile?) They had one good period, to be fair it was a really dang good period, but it was still just one period. We'll see how this translates next game, the special teams also is still puke. We play the Stars next who have the same number of points as us but look like a legit team, it'll be a good test for us to see how good the Bruins actually are. I think if we have a competitive game and lose, Monty's good, if we have another stinker against a good team? Might want to update the resume.

I'm ambivalent on Monty but he seems to be taking all the blame while the front office is getting none. We don't have a second line that can score unless we split Marchand and Pasta and hurt our first line, our allegedly elite goalie is playing at a slightly below average level after missing training camp, and Lindholm hasn't been elite since 22-23. They didn't think Lysell was ready, they don't think Poitras is despite the advanced analytics really liking him and thinking we've just been unlucky with him on the ice so far, but guys like Geekie and Brazeau just aren't top 6 players. Any coach is going to have a slim margin for error if that's our lineup and it's tough to win all the 3-2 games when 2/3 of your elite guys on the backend aren't playing at that level.
Also do people buy the Joe Sacco rumors? I would understand them staying away from Q after the Mitchell Miller backlash, but find it hard to believe they'd even give Sacco a hint he'd be the guy after Monty when they're still coaching together on the same staff and it'd be a firing not a retirement.

Dirty hit by Jamie Benn, Carlo seems concussed again.
Zadorov worked him over naturally the league reverses the major to a minor. What a joke

okay, so can we fire monty now? No reaction when Carlo got hit and we just look lost against an actual decent team. A lot of that good streak occurred against bad teams, and what was touted was how good they were at 5 on 5 and how the penalty kill and powerplay were killing us. well, tonight we've allowed four goals five on five, one from a penalty shot. what's hilarious is, we are actually winning on the deserve to win o'meter.

Korpisalo got them a point in that one
Gotta fire Monty just as an attempt at creating a spark

We've had one game where we've won by at least three goals, we have lost five games by at least three goals. Is this cherrypicking, sure, is it comical, yes!
I mean, ideally I'd want Sweeney gone too and probably Neely, but that feels more like offseason work. We can't make any moves since we're near the cap. The only logical choice to spark the team, even if it's not all his fault is firing Monty. I wouldn't commit to any big huge coach hirings, I'd just get an interim guy, and bring in a full new front office in the offseason assuming things continue like this.

A lot of talk about Swayman's negotiations being so public possibly affecting the team mentally. If this is true then it sure makes sense why this team looks so lethargic. Only players and management know for sure. If this is true, than management needs to pull the band-aid off and move the players that don't want to be Bruins. I don't think Montgomery can do anymore than he already has tried.
