Nava has played a little bit of first base this year, but learning additional infield positions would be pretty difficult - he throws lefty.

"[Jackie Bradley, Jr.'s] lack of arm strength and range is also an incredible detriment to the team." t.co/s1XeTkYFm4Really ESPN? I don't know if the article has been changed in the last 3 hours, but that's not what it says now. He says he doesn't know what kind of fielder he is but that scouts say he has good range and a better arm than Jacoby. He does complain about the strikeouts and other offensive numbers (which is also silly given the sample size but whatever).

He got called out on Twitter and tried to say the UZR thing. He must have gone back to have them edit it.
As our ESPNBoston overlords stand over me, I'd like to remind everyone that one writer does not an across-ESPN failure make. <zapped with tazer>

I feel kind of bad for criticizing him now. Apparently, his dad died today. It's a good reminder to not get too angry about baseball when there are more important things in life.... He's still wrong about Bradley, though (sorry).

He's still wrong about Bradley, though (sorry). This. In Nate Silver's book, there is a passage in which Silver describes a discussion he had with Bill James, in which James claimed that having kids really helped him soften as an analyst. In the end, everyone's got people they care about and who care about them, it's easy to tear down people when they're wrong (I do it too often myself) but in the end, our common humanity is a lot more important than how we evaluate baseball. Unless you leave Pedro of the MVP ballot.

Jackie Bradley will never be the player that Ellsbury is but I don't think the Sox expect him to be. I watched this guy play in College a lot, being from Nebraska and going to the College World Series. He has the ability to hit a lot of doubles and be an on base machine. He is not nearly as fast as Jacoby but he has a hose for an arm. If they can get a full year under his belt I would really like to see what happens.

I am concern with what I have seen at the plate. All the Yankees did was throw low and inside and him swinging through or hitting groundouts to 1st. Hopefully he can work on that.
As far as defense I haven't seen enough but he sure isn't giving me the impression that he is a liability and all reports say he is an excellent CF so I don't know where that's coming.
