We're recording a draft preview podcast tonight, and I figured I'd toss a couple polls out to gauge where our core visitors - the forum posters - were at with regard to the top pick.
For this poll, please say who you THINK the Red Sox will draft at #7 overall. This means you'll need to do some prognosticating as to who will be available. This is the prediction poll - there will be a separate poll for who you WANT them to take.
If you would like, you can post your reasoning here. I may read a couple on the podcast, but no promises. (Please don't turn this into a discussion - use the draft thread for discussion.)
Thanks all,
Chris

I really think Moran will be the pick. If you don't like him thats probably good for you because non of my Red Sox draft predictions have ever come to fruition.

I'm not happy about it, but I think Moran will be the pick. I am skeptical the Indians will nab Moran at 5. The Red Sox have been linked to Moran, and Speier (who is incredibly plugged in) stated in his podcast that the Sox are high on him.

I sure hope that Moran is not the pick. There are various scouting reports that he doesn't have enough agility to play 3rd and he doesn't hit for enough power to play either corner infield position.

I'd prefer Stewart, but I think he may be gone (despite KLaw's latest mock) and they'll then go for Frazier or Meadows, I think it's Frazier.

Stewart is very likely to be gone to Minnesota, unfortunately.
I doubt Moran lasts to five, since while he gets hate on the internet, teams are much higher on a guy with high OBP skills and the chops to stick at third. The scouting reports this season all indicate that he should be able to stick at third, unlike Bryant and Peterson.
The next highest guy on their draft board is probably Meadows or Frazier. I am guessing the Red Sox take Meadows, who has more potential to be a center fielder.

Here's my own uneducated mock draft of the top 7 picks on Thursday night.
Houston: Gray Cubs: Appel Colorado: Bryant Minnesota: Kohl Stewart (darn!) Cleveland: Moran Florida: McGuire Red Sox: Frazier
If Florida were to scoop up Frazier then I think the Sox would either go with Ball or Meadows, and in that situation I think they'd go with Ball.

I think the Sox will draft Meadows because both Stewart and Frazier will be off the board by #7.

I'm holding my breath for Frazier. If they draft Frazier then I will honestly be less critical of the rest of our draft regardless of what they do.

0 votes for Ball. Heh.
Amazing how much reading and talking we do and we end up drafting the guy almost no one even mentioned even though a lot of people had him going 8 to the Royals.

Honestly, I never considered it until Moran and Frazier went off the board, because I thought one of the Moran, Frazier, or Stewart would be there.
