It feels like Bello would benefit from an occasional high fastball. He has nothing to change the eye level. i will go a step further, he needs to pitch off his fastball.

Maybe i am misremembering, but i kind of remember Bello throwing 97 / 98 last year. I hope we haven't gotten too far ahead of ourselves by shelving that velo.

Anyone else ever feel Bello just gives up way too much contact in general, thus far in his career? more concerned he doesn't strike out a great rate, but his stuff is definitely starter material. Question is, is it ACE material ?

This is random, but it seems incredibly dangerous to be doing this interview during the game with the way the A’s dugouts offer so little protection from foul balls. not random, i thought the same thing. easy to foul one off in that area.

gonna be very interesting to see how this plays out. Appears to be going against over 100 years of orthodoxy here, if I am reading this correctly. The last 15 or so has seen a big spike in velocity and use of spin, so recency bias minimizes that a bit. That is a all well and good, but what are the costs, either direct or opportunity.? Because there are always costs. Is it arm injury, fatigue, control ? From what i have read it takes more effort to throw the ball with spin, and that is taking into account that hrowing a baseball isn't a normal arm activity to being with. And teams will get books on all this stuff before long. Very hopeful, but with a raised eyebrow at this point.

MLB pitching fWAR leader Tanner Houck of the MLB team pitching fWAR leading Red Sox. And the team FIP of 2.33 leads MLB... by over a run. Dodgers are 2nd at 3.46. b...b...b...but, i thought we needed starting pitching this year. Clearly, someone hacked my account and posted numerous times about the lack of starting pitching. I wish they hadn't done that.

They had better win this series because the MFY’s will win and the O’s and the J’s will win, too. Tough division, so you have to keep up somehow. I feel sorry for the A’s manager. He looked frustrated last night, like what the hell can I do? maybe he should take the bong out their hands. lol. i agree, there isn't much that a manager can do with this mess.
